At what age do I let my toddler sleep in underpants over night? ?
She will be 4 next month. I'm just not sure when to start this. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I got rid of diapers all at once, nigh time and everything, as soon as my son was potty trained (just before age three) and we have had no problems whatsoever. I think if they know they have a diaper (pull up) on then they will use it. A four year old is old enough to understand, so be sure to explain to her that she is not to pee in her underwear. If she has not been staying dry at night (becasue she knows she can go in her pants) there may be an adjustment time and a few accidents, but she is definitely old enough.

I started letting my kids sleep in underpants after they went a couple of weeks with no accidents at night. If your child still wets the bed then keep them in pull ups or under jams. If not, then there is no reason they can't sleep in underpants. Both of my kids slept in underpants by the time they were 3. My daughter did earlier than my son, but both by 3.

Wow, I am having the exact same dilemma. I don't think that there is a specific age, you just kinda have to go with your gut (like the rest of parenting :-D ) If she is doing really well during the day then take a week or so, and just try it, if it's not working at all you may need to wait awhile until her brain can make the connection while she's asleep, sometimes toddlers sleep to deeply to be able to wake up to use the bathroom. I haven't tried yet with my son, i just have a feeling he's not ready yet, and it would just discourage all of us.(Not to mention the lack of sleep) Hope this helps

if she is generally dry in the morning I would let her wear underpants. My son will be 3 in 2 weeks. he is mostly dry in the morning. I went out and spent $6 on 6 pair of plastic pants. I slip these on over his underpants just in case he has an accident. that way the wet is contained in the plastic pants

I would say it depends on if she wets during the night. You can try it and try to get up with her during the middle of the night to go to the restroom. If she does wet during the night there is nothing wrong with letting her use "pull ups" during the night. Once she stays dry for a set amount of time like a week then try returning to underwear. I would make sure she does not drink anything 2hrs prior to going to bed.

My son's are almost five and six and they still wear overnight diapers because they still wet at night. If your daughter is consistently dry, then I would say let her try. Just make sure the mattress is protected by a waterproof pad. FYI: Night-time bed wetting (nocturnal enuresis) is more common in boys than girls, but it can still happen.

It has nothing to do with age. Everything to do with the maturity of their bladder, and their understanding of potty training.
I had my 2 year old virtually potty trained, then we moved, and she doesn't even try anymore.
What I'm trying to say, is, it all depends on the child.
