If Prop 8 (in Ca) has nothing to do with teaching same sex marriage in our public schools, why is the CTA ....?

The reason could be that they favor equal rights under any laws and this means freedom of speech; which MUST include the clergy and every Christian or Muslim to be able to speak what they believe! We had a big problem, and still do, with affirmative action because equal rights under law were not followed. We heard some college reps tell us that they would support bigotry if it seemed to support diversity! Obviously, any bigotry is what it is! We all have a right to speak, or should. We especially allow the Communists to take this to the limit, using the ACLU as their co-workers against truths that the original Constitution had INSISTED ON! Children not allowed to ask for a blessing for their food in schools? Do not pray in this name of Jesus? Who are any that can tell us who we can pray to? I am sure that money is always the front for most proposed law changes and we see this! Money is how the Gay, female or male. have changed statutes. They are one of, or the most in contributions to the Democrats! If we remember, Bill Clinton gave away electronic circuits on missile flight to COMMUNIST China in his reign and told our teen girls that oral was not sex! The circuitry allowed and allows Communist China to hit any US city pinpoint! The before was an 800 mile variable.. It then became a pinpoint attack! Whose side was Bill on? Whose side was he on when he signed NAFTA? Why do married couples have to wait for immigration workers to enter before their spouse? If you ask a Democrat Senator or Congressperson, you will get the same runaround as you do from immigration! The question would be,, if Dems are for American jobs, why are foreigners placed, even before marrieds that just want to be with their spouse and seek no job? I asked Dave Camp and got much help from him.. but he is a Republican! He had it investigated. Our Dems in Michigan could care less about our workers and lie to us all the time! This is why Michigan is off the map as far as wanting to live here! Your neighbor is selling, why? They want out and we all should sell instead of trying to rip our populous off and our own neighbor! Michigan is an example of what we would have under Obamination! Want anytime abortion? Do you want anytime hate crime which favors some over others? Is this equal protection under law? Pelosi has stiopped it, while Communist China drills off our coast.. who is to gain but her and Cuba and what other, so called Democrat? I think an investigation is way past overdue. I also think, as a Veteran of the 60's. all us Vets should want to know! We lost because of politics and not because of us who served! We should all stand against any form of Communism, that being in our schools or elsewhere in our Nation. Vets, investigate what freedoms we will loose with Obama! The role of schools is not to teach same sex marriage, but to make students aware that Johny might have two moms or dads. This has been an issue since the 70's. At one time schools had to make students aware Johny might have different colored parents. Don't know prop 8 or what CTA is so can't address your specifics of your question.

Actually it does, right now a teacher can discuss the facts, watch civil unions, in fact they can have pretend civil unions if they so please. In many High Schools, they have a male student and female marry in a mock way, and have to raise a baby (like an egg or a doll) to teach them the lessons of family life and raising a baby. This usually is done in a Home Ecs class; well if Susan and Anne marry what would stop a teacher from having 2 female students marry or 2 males?

Whether I (the teacher) agree with civil unions or not, there are some religions that truly oppose it and who am I to teach my beliefs to someone else's impressionable teen?

And since our nation and state is built around the many diverse ethnic and religious groups, how can our public schools infiltrate around that. Too touchy of a situation and becomes a church vs state issue.

Maybe you should actually read the California Code of Education. Marriage, which is barely mentioned in there, falls under Sex Education (and Family Education). And it's pretty clear that every parent has a right to know beforehand when that material is being taught, and to pull their child out of it.

The education code does not force kids to learn about sex ed, and it does not require marriage to be a part of that curriculum.

Perhaps because their members are educated, enlightened and tolerant people that believe in civil rights.
