Atheists: Do you know everything? ?
Do you know half of everything?
Is it possible that God exists in the half that you don't know?
This is not an argument, an inference, or an implication. It is not an accusation. It is a simple question.

Of course I don't know everything.
That's why I treat as suspect all those who make claims to knowledge
in subjects where no conclusive evidence exists.
But how does my admission that I don't know everything
support the claims for a god made by those who DO believe
they know? If anything, atheism would be a MORE logical
position to hold then theism, because I'm not definitively rejecting the idea something may exist, I'm not accepting the
claims of those we do believe.
Denial and non-acceptance are two very different things.

I was an atheist for several years, before my faith was restored and will base my answer on how I felt at the time.
No, I did not "know everything". What I did know was that I had (and still have) serious problems reconciling a religion that professes to worship a God who so loved the world that He gave his only Son that we may be redeemed, with the behavior of Churches that apparently think the only thing you need to enter the Kingdom of God, is to kill abortionists and outlaw gay marriage.
The first step on recovering my faith was not to answer for the churches, but to realize that my faith is between me and God.
Whether God decides to forgive me or damn me for my beliefs that "Love one another as I have loved you" extends to other religions, races, gays and other groups that are often held in contempt by churches of some denominations, it is NOT YOUR DECISION! It is God's decision and his alone.
Humans are too judgmental. Frankly, I think the biggest reason that people are so quick to judge other peoples sin, is that they are desperate for any excuse for God to ignore their own sins. And the various attempts to legislate "sin" out of existence are cries for God to judge other peoples sins, not the sins of the supporters of these laws.
It was not until I was able to realize this, that I was able to recognize God in what we don't know, and see that God and Science were not mutually exclusive.

We've been around for ages. If there was even a remote possibility that God exists, we would have seen hard evidence of said existence by now so nope. It's not possible that he exists at all.

Possible? Yes.
Likely or are the odds in that direction? Nope.
People who don't know what the sun is yet, will make up some mystical explanation. Many other people accept that because it makes them feel special. After years and years and discovery after discovery proving they are wrong, they create a "devil" explanation. This devil or evil tries to take away their original, special explanation. So, now anyone who apposes them, is evil.
It is a great con. Bravo!

Sure it's possible. It's also possible that the universe was created last Wednesday and we were created with fake memories. It's possible that we are fleas on the back of a giant dog. It's possible that none of us really exist, but we're just the thoughts of some alien creature.
Highly unlikely, but possible nevertheless. What, you think your god is more possible than any of those things? I doubt it.

as an atheist my biggest beleif is that no human knows everything, i wouldnt even say half of everything, but i do beleive that i have never seen evidence of a god...could there be one...sure, but until i find the evidence to prove it i dont beleive in it

No, not really. And if he does, I'm not interested. AT ALL. If he exists in the half of reality that hypothetically don't know, then he's a worthless God anyway and why would ANYONE want to follow him?
Pointless question...

No, I don't know everything or claim to. There is no evidence for a god. Until there is, I will dismiss the idea.

No I don't know everything. Yes it is possible God exists despite there being no evidence for his/her existence. The problem with this argument is that it can be used to make a case for the existence of everything from UFO's to the Loch Ness Monster. I try to temper my beliefs with evidence, not imagination. You should try it sometime.

I see absolutely no evidence that a god could exist in the half of me that doesn't know.
