My new kitten was scolded yesterday for doing something he shouldn't, and now he's very mopey and lays around.?
Is this a normal behavior or something I should have him checked out? He was not hit, just yelled at.

Cats don't understand time the way we do and can't associate what we do with what they do, at least not for as long as he's been mopey. So it's likely he's just having a normal lazy day. But if he's not eating right or seems too tired for a kitten, he may have fleas/a parasite or some other illness. If he isn't eating, take him to the vets. Maybe he is ill, unrelated to yelling at him.

awwww, since he's a new kitten he's probably not used to get yelled at. have you try playing wit him or showin him affection to let him kno u still love him....I have a cat and when i yell at her she gets a little sad too but after a while i go rub and play with her and then shes back to normal. if this goes on for more than a couple of days u should get him checked out

Give if a few more days
If he's eating normally and isn't showing any medical problems and you've had him checked recently their really isn't an issue.
Keep an eye on him, if he mews a lot when you touch him there could be something wrong, but it was nothing to do with you shouting at him.

he's sad because he doesn't know why u yelled at him, all he thinks is that u don't love him anymore. play with him, hug him, give him lots of kisses, so that he knows u still love him. he's just sad :(
