Not true in my state. We can track our absentee ballots on line and know exactly when received in the township hall and when it's recorded in the voting machine.

In some instances that is the case. What happens is that if one candidate has such a significant lead, far greater than the number of absentee ballots yet to be counted (in other words if one candidate has a lead of say 100,000 votes and the number of absentee ballots still to be counted are only 50,000) then the counting of those votes are considered insignificant since they won't change the outcome of the election.

Mailed absentee ballots are counted on Election Day in the Central Absentee Precinct (CAP). Many counties use optical scan equipment to count paper ballots. Please follow the marking instructions on your ballot and return it in the envelopes provided. Be sure to fill in ALL the information on Envelope B, including; your full name, legal address, your signature, your witness's signature and a date. Anyone, including your spouse, family member or neighbor, may serve as your witness. But if you've waited this long your a little too late lol. Good question!!!!

Is your state a swing state? Is the election commission chair Republican or Democrat? There are so many rules about counting mailed in ballots, are they all being followed? These questions will tell you how many absentee ballots will not be counted.

To an extent. If a state has 100,000 (a lot of which are military personnel that usually vote Republican) absentee ballots that haven't been counted, and the Republican candidate leads by 200,000 votes, is there really a reason to count the rest?

Here we go! Misinformation, disinformation and political tactics to kill an election even before the count is out.
Why would someone think that an absentee ballot wouldn't count? Its name reveals just what it is: if you're absent, you can cast your vote with this ballot!

Often, there are situations where there are politically-based objections to how such ballots are counted, and some have been known to be rejected on some basis. This is rare, but does happen, for instance, right now, Ohio is experiencing such objections for this national election - hopefully, they will be smoothly resolved, but objections are in process, with resolutions unsure.

I personally don't trust the absentee system, but then again, will my vote be counted anyway? I'll be voting anyway.

yes, they are not going to count them until election day. They claim they can get an idea about early voting from the people who show up registered as Dem. or Rep. from their cards.

1/3 of oversea military votes do not get counted on average
Odd thing is when McCain proposed legislation that would have assured all were counted the democrats opposed.
Wonder why?
could Obamsa proposed 25% cut to military spending have anything to do with it?
