Are Mission Space and Rockin Roller Coaster at Walt Disney World Florida really intense? ?

I'm going to Disney for the 3rd time and I've never been on Mission Space (Epcot) or on Rockin Roller Coaster (MGM). I really want to try them out but I'm not sure if they'd make me sick. I like wild rides but not to wild. Thx!

MISSION: SPACE has two different options for riding. It is the first amusement park ride to actually have barf bags on the ride, and accessible during the ride. There is an "intense" and "less intense" version. The "less intense" version experiences much of the same sensations, but not to the same effect.

I recommend trying the "less intense" version first. My husband love the "intense" version, but my mom came out green. My sister and I skipped it all together. The "less intense" version was not available back in '03 when we all went. Last year in '07 my hubby went on the "intense" version and loved it, again. I sat alone outside and people watched.

ROCK'N ROLLERCOASTER is the fastest rollercoaster in Disney World and packs two loops and a corkscrew. It reaches 60mph in about 3 seconds.

I skip Rollercoasters but my husband loves them so he will ride, and I will stick both of our tickets in the FastPass machine. He is able to get off, jump right back on, ride and do it all over again.

If you decide to go on Mission: Space!, you definitely should not eat before riding. Also, choose the mild version of the ride. If you feel like you will be sick, just close your eyes--it's just a simulator. Honestly when I was on Mission: Space! for the first time (before they made 2 different versions), I really couldn't tell the difference, but I rode the mild version 1-2 years after that... Something about it just makes me have to go to the bathroom right after I get off :P

Rock N Roller Coaster I've only been on twice, about 2-3 years ago. From what I remember is that you are shot off really fast ( 0-60mph in 2.8sec) and from there, you head right into a loop/corkscrew. If you don't like going upside down, then this ride is not for you. I just thought it was really fun, but there is always a long line!

  • The last time I was at Disney I make the biggest mistake of my life...riding mission space. There are signs everywhere as you are winding your way through that if you are prone to motion sickness don't ride the ride. My husband and I were like whatever it will be fine; well you know it's going to be bad when you get inside the motion simulator and there are vomit bags next to your seat.

My husband and I were so sick after we got off that ride we left Epcot and spent the rest of the day sick in our hotel room.

Have not rode the Rockin Roller Coaster...there was a long line & they were letting the fast pass people on so we opted not to ride it.

Rock n Roller Coaster is pretty tame for this type of coaster. It is very fast, but because it is in the dark, the turns and loops and corkscrews seem to be over before you even know it. It's wild, but it's smooth.

Mission: Space depends on you - I didn't think it was any big deal at all - I also didn't think it was especially fun. If you are prone to motion sickness AT ALL, you probably shouldn't ride it - stick to the less intense version that does not spin like the real ride.

I don't like wild rides at all, but I went on the Aerosmith ride because I am a huge Aerosmith fan. It is not that wild at all. It is just really , really fast and it only lasts about 45 seconds. Went it ended I thought there was more , like we were going to go backwards or something. But it was over.

I went on MS when it first opened and it seemed OK to me. Cant even tell you are spinning around , just feels like a little weightlessness. But apparently alot of people got sick on it and since then they have toned it down big time ! So I would say definatly go on and have a good time. I am a lightweight when it comes to Disney rides or any rides and I enjoyed them both.

Well I have been on Misson Space before. It was kind of funny, because it was when I was in sixth grade I believe, so that was five years ago. My dad and uncle wanted my little brother and I to go on it. I was freaking out and really didn't want to, but I decided to give it a try. At first, the take off is kind of intense. I closed my eyes though. After that, it feels pretty fun. The wild part is over, and it's smooth sailing. At the end of the ride, my brother and I wanted to ride it again because we loved it so much, but my dad and uncle didn't want to. It was funny how they were the ones who wanted to try it, and my brother and I didn't, and at the end, they were the ones who didn't enjoy it, and my brother and I did. I guess what I'm trying to say is, yes, it's pretty crazy at first, but it's a cool ride. I really hope I helped... Have a magical day!

Rock N Roller Coaster is soo much fun,I love it! Mission Space is not a ride for everyone. If your prone to motion sickness do not get on it.It's one of those rides that is totally enclosed. You can't see out, your just looking at a screen. It makes you feel really sick.We had headaches and felt dizzy and nauseous for hours afterward.I wouldn't get on it again.

mission space is awful. you sit very close to the controls so you dont notice that the way they achieve the effect is by spinning the dome very very fast. I felt dizzy for awhile after i got off, i would never go on it again. Rocking roller coaster is fine but a very long wait for a super short ride, not more than 25 seconds. it takes off very fast, goes into a upside down turn a couple more curves and it is over. i would go on it again it was fun but too short.

well they are meant to be intense they are thrill rides.

personally i love them cuz they are intense.

when you are blasting off in mission space you get G-forces and it pins you back like you are really an astronuant.

and rock n roller coaster launches you from 0-60 in 3 seconds and gives you the feeling that your stomach is back at the launching area while the rest of your body is in the ride.

i'm not sure what makes you sick and what type of thrill rides you like so i can't say whether they are too intense for you or not.

i'd say if you've gone on a ride that pins you to your seat and was ok with it then mission space should be fun.

and if you like tower of terror and the feeling of losing your stomach then you will enjoy rock n rollercoaster since it does the same thing to your stomach.

the only way to really find out if you like them is to go on them.

they are both really awesome and the atmosphere is sooo great in both rides.

    I LOVE THEM BOTH!!!

and if you think you'd get sick on mission space due to the spinning (which when i go on it i can't even tell i'm spinning it feels like you are blasting off and have g-forces but since you can't see you are spinning you can't tell you are spinning)

you could go on the less intense version which does everything except spin which i don't like cuz the g-force part is the best part and makes you feel like you are an astronaunt.
