Does everybody agree these umpires are the worst in World Series history?
Wow! If my team was playing and getting these stupid calls,I would be madder than Ozzie Guillen on a bad day! What a mess! Those guys are horrible!

I've been watching MLB for 40 years and the umpiring now is the worst it's ever been. Every time I said that during the year I got hammered with thumbs down. The reason instant replay is needed is because today's umpires can't tell the difference between a foul ball and a home run. There has never been talk of instant replay until the last decade or so because it wasn't needed. The fans and players deserve better than what they're getting. Actually, you may be right. This really could, and probably is, the worst umpired World Series ever.

Like a few people have said, I have missed a lot of baseball, so I can't say they're the worst in history. I will say that they are the worst I've ever seen. I have watched baseball all my life, but I have never seen a whole World Series with umpires this bad. They blew the call on Moyer's beautiful play. They blew the call at third the other day on the great pickoff. They missed about 1000 ball/strike calls last night (obviously I'm exaggerating, but it was bad). Hamels got some strikes taken away from him, and Kazmir got a whole lot of strikes taken from him.
This has been pretty disgraceful. I agree with you completely.

Did you happen to see the 1985 World Series. That call in game 6 in the 9th inning probably prevented the Cardinals from winning the World Series. That was much worse.

Sorry but Don Denkinger is the worst of all time. His blown call at 1st base in the 9th inning of game 6 of the '85 series handed the KC Royals the title.

Ya. the strike zones have been in each single place and intensely inconsistent. That risk-free call on Rollins at third base shouldnt have been missed if the ump replace into status on Mars. and good day with the strike 3 call and then the charm right down to 1st. terrible.

This whole series has been a mess. A lot of things have gone wrong -- all the way down to Tampa Bay's hotel arrangements... wow.

Well, it's human error, but they make more stinkin' mistakes than all the umpires in history combined!
I can't wait for 2020, when hopefully, we can fire all the umpires and use robots instead.

I can't agree that they are the worst, but I can agree they are pretty damn bad. And people use the excuse, well both teams have gotten screwed. While that's true, it doesn't make it okay. Umps are there to make good calls, more good than bad. They are human but to be consistently bad, there is no excuse.

Seniority. The umpires union insists that post-season umpires be picked based on seniority, not on competence or grading. Of course, they keep the Questec scores private as well.

It's difficult to say. There have been a lot of World Series and I certainly haven't seen them all. They certainly haven't been the best in World Series history.
