Sub-flooring question?
One of the toilets in our house had a pin-sized hole in the intake to the toilet, & leaked out onto a small area of the subfloor (which is made of particle board). It was behind the toilet & on the side, where no one walks. We caught it, fixed it, & are in the process of drying it out (with a dehumidifier & fan blowing on it 24/7). The particle board is intact & solid, already shows signs of returning to the original color (no swelling!) . My question is, are we going to have to replace it, even though no one walks in that area & it is still strong (doesn't give at all) under pressure?

Since you said no swelling you caught it time. NICE CATCH lol Seriously, as long as you dry it out now and there s no weakness ( you can tell by stepping on it) your good to go. Just on the side of caution treat it w/ some anti bacterial spray ( Lysol and such) or a 50/50 water bleach combo. GL

i wouldn't think so. If there is no swelling, dried out COMPLETELY to avoid mold. When building a house sometime it rains before completion. They aren't going to replace everypart of the wet wood.

Not at all. If it's still sound it's fine. No worries.
