250K wealthy? I don't think so?

It seems that many here, Probably teenagers , think that if you are making >250K a year you are sitting back living the high life. I don't think that starts until you get into the multi millions and even then most of those people are busting their butts day in and day out

    250K is living comfortably.

    Wealthy is a relative word.

Between me and my husband we do have a combined income of over 250K and we do not sit back and live the high life. Between us we work over 80 hours a week and while we do have nice things we don't have private helicopters and Hummers sitting in our drive way. We work hard and we make money. Should we have to bust our a^^^ so the people who don't work as hard get the same income?

Give me a break people. Let me teach you the way of the world.

    Go To School

    Work Hard

    Make Money..

    NOT

    Drop Out Of School

    Have A Couple Of Kids

    Marry A Deadbeat

    Work A Minimum Wage Job

Complain Because Hard-Working People Make More Than You

People who earn more than 250K would pay a few percentage points of a higher tax rate on the amount over 250K. That is all. I would be back to the rates at the time of Clinton. No new taxes. Just a rolling back of the stupid ones that thought that people who earn over 250K needed a tax break back in 2000.

According to the U.S. Census, less than 3% of the HOUSEHOLDS (which includes all people with incomes living in the same house) in the United States of America made more than 250k in 2007. The median income for HOUSEHOLDS in the USA in 2007 was only $50,000 (which means half the HOUSEHOLDS earned less than $50k) In view of these statistics, I think we can safely characterize someone that makes $250k as being very well off compared to the other 97% of the population.

No? The vast majority of Americans make much less. Over 20 years that is 5 million dollars of income.

Well, sitting here at $40,000 a year (and very happy with it, I might add), 250k seems pretty well-off to me and I'm in my 40s.

250K is very wealthy. Anything over 100K is wealthy in my opinion. I'm not the stereotypical spoiled American that is so materialistic that 250K is not enough for me.

Its not 250k anymore. Yesterday Barry said 200k and Biden said 150k.

That is wealthy. I am 25 years old, work full-time and make less than $25,000 a year.

My mother is teacher and my father a building inspector and they make less than $100,000 and year.

Agree! Defining "wealthy" is all relative, especially with all the taxes we already pay!

that is top 1% wage earners , if that is not living well perhaps you need reality check not paycheck.
