According to the constitution of the United States, is the government required to give a sum of money to the family of a soldier who was killed in action? Are they required to if he dies after leaving the military?

No, and there is no such thing in the Constitution.

No. There is no such requirement. It evolved out of the enumerated power given to the Congress in Article One, Section Eight to write the regulations for the conduct of the land and naval forces. Just as the Disability Evaluation System and the Uniformed Code of Military Justice did.

No. The constitution rarely gets that specific.

The only military provisions I know about are as follows:

The president is the commander in chief, only congress can declare war, and the army can't force people to house soldiers in their homes.

No. The constitution in no way addresses this.

Anything that addresses this is military policy. It's not constitutional.
