White Lab/Feeder Mice/Rats??????

Can These be released into the wild?

Today i went to the petstore to get my turtle some feeder fish and i looked at them,Lokked so miserable inside that 10 gallon tank!.

I Felt kind of bad for them since they make them breed for food.

Well tomorrow im planning on putting all of them(Small,Medium,Jumbo) Inside a big box,Take them to the woods and let them live freely!.

Please i hope i can do this i dont like animals suffering.

And if i cant what can i do to help them?

Except bring them inside my house I Mean i would but my mom will freak out.

And if your gonna ask about how im gonna open the cage They left the key on the table and i took it And i know its the right one because this guy bought a feeder mice for his burmese python and you should've seen how he strangled it :(

Reply,Thanks.

They were bred for that purpose. If it were not for needing them for feeders they would not even be alive. No they will not survive in the wild. They will die quickly being used as a feeder. They may die quickly from something eating them in the wild, or die slowly and REALLY suffer from starving or freezing to death. That would be like going to the super market and stealing all the live lobsters they have there and dumping them into a local lake. (Snakes do have to eat, and rodents are the ONLY thing they will eat). Personally I dont agree with live feeders. Is worse for both the mouse and the snake.

As far as having a snake as a pet being animal crualty....any animal kept in a cage and never handled is.....but most people who own snakes do handle them a lot. Snakes that arnt handled often cant be at all......are very wild....ones that are handled often are very docile. Used to have a small one that would wrap around my wrist and leave the rest of her body curled up in my hand......if i had my hand turned palm down people would think it was a bracelet till she started moving around or popped her head out.....actually liked being held more then any mouse i ever had (no never fed her lives....only brought frozen).

Also just going in there and taking them is theft.....you will have charges pressed against you if you get caught.....which you most likely will.

Also....many white strains of mice have poor immune systems, so would very quicly catch something in the wild....white mice are very inbred.

Uh, they wouldn't be able to SURVIVE in the wild. They don't know what to eat and how, where to get water from, how to survive the cold compared to the warmth of the pet store; cute idea, and I'm glad live feeding is against the law in the UK, but that wouldn't work! Also, you could get in trouble with the law for stealing from the shop. It's STILL stealing, even though its animals and not property.

you can try releasing into the wild, but they wont know how to find homes etc.

mabeeee, give them away though friends, or stan on the streets, asking people, say you rescued them, i would hve done the same thing as you i thing its horrible on how people can watch an inncent animal die, i understand its for their pet, but i think owning pythons and snakes should be conciderd as animal cruelty, because these are animals in tanks where they can just move around.

but i hope all goes well.

    good luuck.
