If McCain is pro military, then why are deployed troops donating FIVE TIMES as much to Obama than to McCain?

Does this mean the military isn't pro-mccain?

    Because your source if fiction.

There are lots and lots of lies out there in this election. Your source is one of them.

Source(s): Former U.S. Army. I've been deployed and know the military and how they think and vote.

"BTW, those who joined just to say they did their time, are dumbshits. They talk like the armed forces is a jail. They never saw the opportunities of making it a career and obviously they chose to serve. There is no such thing as a 4 year veteran. You aaren'ta veteran for only doing the minimum time."

You know this statement really pisses me off. It doesn't entirely make sense but it still pisses me off, the Air Force isn't the same as the rest of the military guy, and I would hazard a guess our experiences in the military have been dramatically different though, I wouldn't try to suggest that either has been more valuable than the other as that is a very objective statement. But realize that some people serve for reasons other than the benefits, and there is a reason why you aren't the one who decides who a veteran is and isn't.

By the way I am voting for McCain, and despite my lack of enthusiasm a the possibility of me going to Iraq again, I doubt the ability of Obama to get us out and I would prefer a graceful exit and possibly a permanent presence even if it would mean me sweating my balls off for another 12 months, cause I would hate to think the 28 months I have already spent there would be for nothing and at least McCain pretends we wont abandon our mission there.

No you are incorrect. Only about 332 people serving overseas donated money to the campaigns. Yes Obama received the most money out of those 332 (actually Ron Paul did and then Obama) However that is not even a fraction of the number of people in the Military so all the proves is that not alot of Military members donate money. According to the Military Times McCain overwhelmingly is ahead in the polls of whom the Military is supporting. My husband is on his second tour of Iraq and voted for McCain. My brother is at basic and voted for McCain and my cousin is leaving for Iraq soon and is voting for McCain.

needless to say you're actually not to impressive in case you think of the numbers you have quoted make up a extensive volume of the militia. There are alot greater troops than 292. All this proves is many of the troops do no longer donate to applicants. the final public of the militia helps McCain. that's a fact no longer hypothesis. My husband grew to become into deployed to Iraq in a unit of 80 adult adult males. He reported the ration grew to become into approximately 70 helping McCain and 5 helping Obama and in step with threat 5 helping Ron Paul. the militia is conscious they get greater help from republicans. in fact whilst the boy scouts tried to collect money and donations from voters on the day of the MA primaries on the armory my husband grew to become into stationed out of Dems all flipped out and the city made the Boy Scouts pass away asserting they have been political by utilising attempting to help the warriors that have been combating in Iraq.

well it was just in military times that 80% of the military is for McCain, and last week on the news polls showed military were for McCain 3 to 1, i don't get my facts from blogs

well consider that most of the members of the military don't have a spare $200 to donate to either candidate, your talking about people i would guess who are up higher in the chain of command than most or are well off already from daddies money that $200 dollars isn't that big of a deal. your average private isn't donating anything to either candidate, so in the end it doesn't really mean much as a reflection of how military members feel about the candidates.

You'll notice the Army Times poll was a voluntary poll from subscribers. Subscribers are almost entirely career military and not representative of the military as a whole. You migh refer to the poll which showed that 72% of the military said the occupation of Iraq was being mismanaged.

The military is a cross section of America. When I was an active duty Marine, I saw more who were Democrats. Of course, I was in the Air Wing with an MOS which required very high test scores. So, we may have been thinking about the issues rather than taking someone else's word for them.

All these polls for this whole election will read the way whoever wrote the poll wants it to read. I'm in the US Navy, and my shop is split. There are many factors to how people vote; being in the military is only one. Besides, being deployed is part of being in the military. You should ask why more Americans aren't pro military. Why they wanna complain about everything they have but don't wanna fight for it.

I don't know where you got that information. I was in the Army, and almost every single person I know who is still active military (deployed or not) is supporting McCain. Many of them are plotting ways to get a discharge if Obama is elected because they are so terrified of what he will do the country and national security.

It's what you said - just because McCain is pro-military doesn't mean the military is pro McCain.

I don't believe that we should cut our military, but at the same time, I don't think we need to be the "Globo-Cop" removing any leader we see as unfit to lead a nation and putting our soliders in harm's way when there are no legitimate or significant American interests at play. I'm sure many military men agree.

Just because you want to serve your nation in its armed forces doesn't mean you automatically think that whatever hairbrained idea a president comes up with for the military is a good one. Military guys probably can see better than nearly anyone else what bad leadership looks like, and I'm sure they don't exactly feel a rush of confidence when McCain says insane crap like "I know how to get Osama Bin Laden, I'll get him," like he's going to put on a red headband and go after him himself Rambo style.

Your source is wrong...and it is a blog,so it isnt credible anyway. The VAST majority of the US Military support John McCain. Look at this poll - nearly 70%!!! http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/10/military_pol...

And to the person who said "John McCain sucks - he crashed 5 planes" I say this: when do you turn 12?

John McCain did not crash 5 planes...if you have proof of otherwise, please share it. I know of 1 plane that was piloted by John McCain that crashed - b/c he was SHOT DOWN.
