Do Obama suporters think they will be taken care of by him?

If you support Obama do you think he will provide extra services to you not currently available? If so what services? Will he help you to become prosperous through a tax plan? What dose he offer to you?

Update:

I was just curious I am in my late 20s and have a wife and children. I really worry about losing my life style. When Clinton was in office it was really hard on the local economy I had to go out of state for work, I don't want to do that again. I do respect all the awnsers here I just don't see a positive side to the man. I know the econemy in some parts of the country is down but life has never been this good where I live.

I think that is EXACTLY why his supporters support him. They think that he will give them handouts.

lx Chel....well you were consistent. 100% wrong. Taxes would go up on everyone. Spending would go up. Over 75% of Americans are happy in their current job, so those horrible wealthy employers must not be too bad. And finally, Clinton did NOT balance the budget. That was based on projections which did not come in when the dot.com bubble burst. It was headed that way, but we did NOT have a balanced budget.

    LA Chick...

    cleaner environment...not likely. No impact.

a more secure economy...Jimmy Carter economics started during a recession? DISASTER!

a comprehensive energy plan...ignoring Nuclear and clean coal, which are the two best sources with the most potential.

and a better standing in the world for our country...I spend 1/3 of each year overseas. Most people in the world do not care about America. They spend no energy worrying about us. We need to stop being so narcissistic about what they think about us.

OBAMA...soul mate...You are one of those who were interviewed about Obama where the reporter associated Obama with McCain's stances, aren't you? Obama wants to punish those who are self-supportive and give more welfare. What in the world makes you think that Obama cares about those who actually work?

S F...You might be the most confused person on YA.

    1. He is being advised by former CEOs of Fannie Mae...and you say some of the greatest minds? Greatest crooks, maybe. I hope that he doesn't listen to them.

    2. Stimulating from the ground up...I love how people talk about the last 8 years. Bush gave us 5 years of unprecedented growth until the dems took over Congress and ignored the economy on purpose in order to tank it prior to this election. And if you look back 8 years ago, we ARE better off. If you look back 2 years ago, most of us are not. Thank you dems...for nothing, which is what they have done in 2 years.

    3. Obamas polices range from fair (Education...more socialism - Green Fuel Development...he ignores VERY needed nuclear and clean coal) to pathetic (Health care... Costs would crush taxpayers under their bulging weight.) to dangerous and stupid. (economy, taxes, war on terror)

    4. Obama has a history of voting "present" or not voting at all. He has no ability to make tough decisions, and when he does, he makes poor decisions.

    5. How Obama ran his campaign??? Handed a poor economy (favors Obama in election). Having the potential for a landmark election (first black president). Going against a candidate who is much too liberal for many of the republican base. If Obama were running a good campaign, he would be up by 65-35%, not losing ground quickly and a statistical tie in several polls within the last few days.

    6. Obama just threw reporters who endorsed McCain off of his campaign plane...this is a sign of things that would come. Obama voted with his party 97% of the time. He has NO record of reaching across party lines. Where the hell do you get that?

    7. Biden vs. Palin. Actually, I would vote for Palin over Obama or Biden, and given some time as VP, I look forward to her becoming the first woman president. What a brilliant woman.

    8. You should be embarrassed. McCain's worst subject in school, and he is proving to be much more intelligent with regards to economics than Obama. Obama should hang his head.

    9. You should NEVER quote JFK's speech about being liberal. In today's political world, JFK would be elected by republicans, but would NEVER be accepted by democrats.

I look at it this way: During the Clinton Administration, our economy was in such a great shape. Heck, he even raised minimum-wage that really affected my life positively. The Bush Administration, well, you know the answer to that I hope. So in conclusion, it comes down to which party has done some good lately. This is why I know for a fact that Barack Obama is going to be better than McCain or any other Republcian. Now let me switch the table here, do you honestly and whole-heartedly think that another Republican president is going to take care of you and be different from the current Republican adminstration? Are you willing to take another 4 to 8 years just to find out? Not me my friend, not me.

Im a 35 year old single white male. There will never be a president who i think will "take care" of me

I like his message. A responsible end to babysitting the Iraqi people. Going after Bin Laden instead. Creating jobs with government spending in infrastructure (absolutely the best way of ending a recession ...remember "the new deal"?) Putting more emphasis on education. Upholding Roe v Wade. Using words of hope instead of more fear mongering.

I have a heck of a lot more faith in Obama, then McCain. What is McCain going to do for you?

Yes, I think Obama will keep to his plans, and execute them the best that he will be able to, with some of the greatest minds and talent that advised any President in a long, long time. ONLY difference is, he will actually LISTEN to them, and be cautious, before he decides.. he as PROVEN this over and over again... McCain, is an angry, fly by the seat of my pants, kind of 'too' old a man.. and Palin is a total joke.... and DOES is not spelt like a DOSE of medication!

FOUR REASONS TO VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA:

    1) PHILOSOPHY = Stimulating the economy from the ground up, not from the top down, it does not work, we have been proven this for the last 8 years! No matter what anyone wants to say, McCain's philosophy, like Bushs', just does not work, period! He wants to move us ahead in technology, be competitive with the world markets. McCain is too far behind the times, Information Technology deficient, Palin too.( Not that Biden is any better, but at least Barrack has the vision and fortitude to move our technology ahead, and then apply it into our grid for support in the development of all the changes he wants to make).

    2) POLICIES= On the Economy, on Education, on Health Care (including our Veterans, and Disabled), on Green Fuel Development, on Job stimulation, on Taxes, on ending the War responsibly...On getting Bin Laden too.... all these areas, Obama has a BETTER PLAN!

    3) DECISION MAKER= Obama will promise to ask the questions, what is best for our Country, NOT what is popular ( for the wealthiest elite or lobbyists, or Oil companies, or Drug companies, or Insurance companies.) HE WILL DO WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR CITIZENS, and ALL OF THEM.

    4) DECISION EXECUTOR= People may try to judge Obama, but look at how he ran his campaign, unlike ANY other politician.. look how successful he did this. HE DID EXECUTE HIS CAMPAIGN, very successfully I might add. He will execute the best decisions and bring both parties TOGETHER, instead of trying to separate and divide us.... he will unite us. He has the Diplomacy, and the goal of promoting our Nation as the Country with Peace and Prosperity, for ALL, not just the wealthiest!

HE IS THE CHIEF EXECUTOR AND HAS PROVEN IT WITH HIS DECISIONS ALREADY!

    #1 Picking the VP......

    Joe Biden vs Sarah Palin

    #2 The Financial Crisis.....

Obama waited to get valuable advice,(Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mike Bloomberg, Pres. Clinton, just to name a 'few') to fully understand all the implications, the impact, the variables, and what would be best for our Country, not just Wall Street.

McCain said nothing, not a thing. He couldn't understand it all, nor did he have any plan for it, as he admitted before, economics was not his best ‘subject’ in school.

JFK’s inspirational speech, one of many, but this one explains his views on being a “Liberal”.

If by “liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “liberal”, then I am proud to say I’m a “liberal”.

Yes...If I step up and show responsibility.

    .

I work every day, I am a veteran, a single mother of one child, and I'm an educated person who takes care of my family. I do not need hand outs. And I know Obama supports people who work, not lazy people.

    .

I think he brings the Americanism back to America. I can not remember when I have seen this many people so excited about the election.

    .

    .

**edit: Apparently people have not been looking around them for the past 8 years, I see tons of people not working, claiming "disability", getting free healthcare while I kill myself working for mine. They give people who do not work, food stamps, welfare, housing, and healthcare. I work, and I can't even get a free egg roll at the local sushi bar. America has become lazy, and or greedy. The attitude has become that someone owes them something..Obama will help us to change our way of looking at things. Restore our pride.

Uh, he offers to start making plans to actually end the war, raise education standards, make our economy better, and otherwise try to change our direction from the path republicans have taken us down for the past 8 years. I don't support Obama because I want him to "take care of me". That's Republican propaganda. I work very hard for my money and believe in contributing to society, thank you very much... what does McCain offer YOU?

  • 1 decade ago

Obama offers me support of our military and veterans, and a return to the Clinton tax codes....when our economy was booming. McCain offers neither.

We have had a progressive tax since 1916. Obama wants to return to the same rates of Clinton All Obama wants to do is stop the Bush tax cuts to the rich. McCain ALSO wanted to do so....until he decided to abandon his conscience and run for President. John McCain 2001: "I cannot in good conscience support the Bush tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief."

John McCain's 2000 Campaign Rally: Audience member: "Why is it that someone like my father who goes to school for 13 years gets penalized in a huge tax bracket because he's a doctor."McCain: "I think it's to some degree because we feel obviously that wealthy people can afford more."

Audience member: "Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism?"

McCain: "Here's what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more."

Democrats increase taxes on the rich. That's the top 1-5%.

The reason the other 95-99% are ticked at the rich is because the rich enslave them, treat them like garbage, take all the company profits for themselves, and then tax the poor to bail out their companies after they, the rich, have drained the retained earnings for their private lear jets, mansions, yachts, and basement lap pools.

Don't listen to what you hear about Democrats increasing taxes on the middle class. Middle class taxes will be cut.

Government spending will not increase, it will decrease as military waste is cut. The military drains most of the government budget to the gain of weapons industry, which benefits only friends of the rich and causes increased violence, death, and destruction.

Only during Clinton years was the budget balanced recently.

Be wary of the lies. Ignore the fear mongering.

That’s the end of the story. Nothing more.

Well, I'm not expecting him to show up at my door and hand me some cash, make me dinner and clean my house.

I am, however, hoping that he'll do something about our health care system, and I believe his tax plan will be a relief to the middle class, who are the ones that seriously need some relief.

Of course. Though I'm a highly educated professional making well into 6 figures each year, I can't wait for Obama to be elected so I can now sit at home eating bonbons on my free government handouts.

Are all Republicans moron? Is that the litmus test for joining the party?
