Excited about the latest archaeology find of ancient Hebrew texts?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_israel_archaeology

QUOTE Experts have not yet been able to decipher the text fully, but carbon dating of artifacts found at the site indicates the Hebrew inscription was written about 3,000 years ago, predating the Dead Sea Scrolls by 1,000 years, the archaeologists said. END QUOTE

It is like every other archeological discovery in the area. They all have given more and more credence to the biblical account.

Never has there been an archeological find that discredited the Bible. This will be no different in that regard.

One would think that at some point people would start to catch on.

We will see what it says.

I am hoping, of course, for another corroborating voice that would make it easier for our more cynical friends to believe.

I find this more than exciting! For years historians have been doubting King David even existed. Even when they admit the possibility he did exist, they claim he was a minor ruler. When this ancient text is deciphered, it may prove Biblical accounts are true. This will also prove the ancient Israelites had a written language. This would mean Biblical stories were not simply passed down from generation to generation but are written records of events that actually occurred.

In my opinion, this could turn out to be as important as the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Perhaps then, many scholars would stop claiming the Bible is a work of fiction and a collection of myths. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes, extremely actually. I mean the dead sea scrolls were a monumental find, and if these pre date them by that much, well then this is huge. I just hope the can decipher it fully some day. This could shed light on a lot of things.

I am always excited by unearthed artifacts, can't wait for the decipherment.

But sadly since carbon dating is such a terrible way to date things it is probably only 5 years older than the Dead Sea Scrolls. (Sarcasm mine.)

An archaeological dig is taking place in the Holy Land.

Suddenly, one of the workers runs up to the head archaeologist and says "I've just found the skeleton of a man from the time of King David and he seems to have died from a heart attack!"

The head archaeologist says "That's ridiculous! How can you date him so accurately? And if he's just a skeleton, how do you know he's died from a heart attack?"

The worker says "Well, I found a clay betting slip with the body and it says "10,000 shekels on Goliath"

Not really. I don't think there's much controversy about the idea that Hebrew-speaking people existed in taht area 3000 years ago, which is all this would indicate. If it contained more than a few words referring to common titles of the time it might be more exciting.

I am now, I was unaware of this news.

I've been doing some Research into the Dead Sea Scrolls lately. I'm amazed how they validate my faith. Every bit of actual historical evidence compounds the truth kept by Catholics for the past 2,000 years.

These discoveries provide creditability toward the original writings.

I think it's God reveling the truth.

    Thanks for the good news.

The Muslims will find a way to convince the rest of the world that the Jews planted it and it's fake.

Other than that, yep it's really interesting. I'd love to be on some digs there.

Exciting indeed it is. They make these kind of discoveries all the time. But seldom make a statement about them until they are sure.

All this just keeps proving to a Sinful World that GOD, JESUS, and Satan are REAL. Not that us Christians need any proof.

    GOD Bless Ya,

Not always but very often. BQ: No, I don't listen to music while sleeping since I usually get up after some minutes and can't sleep for long with music.
