He seems a good lad. The two adult American presenters make me cringe rather more.

As for reconciliation between Muslims and Christians, I witnessed this in London in 1981. It was at the Taize National Gathering just after Christmas, where thousands of Christian pilgrims gathered and prayed and sang all over the city. Many people gave them hospitality - church halls of all denominations, and private families. One group who welcomed them in were Muslim families. London Muslims seem to have been delighted that so many people were coming in a spirit of true devotion to God, and they understood the importance of a pilgrimage, since the Hajj is an important part of their own religion.

Taize (the Church of the Reconciliation) succeeds because it strips down faith to the essential that unites us all - love of God and love for one another. Whether we follow one prophet or another, or whether we give one or more divine status, matters much less. It really should not bother us what particular prophet, teacher, rabbi, guru, god or even rational process others choose to follow as long as we love God and one another, and that we understand Love.

For Catholics, Reconciliation is one of the seven Sacraments, and its name suggests far more than merely confessing one's sins.

If it was from a Muslim preacher it might make a real difference since it's Muslims who are killing the Christians. For the most part it's Christians who are the victims from intolerant Muslims. So, we can't learn a whole lot, because he's already preaching to those who want to live in peace, not to those who do not.

Some reconciliation would be nice. More Christians (and Muslims) should be like this young boy.

It might be interesting but the inevitable 'stalling point' would be on the dual nature of Jesus Christ, Who is both Human and Divine, according to most Christians but certainly not to Muslims.

He won a preaching contest. That's an interesting fact in itself.

Why are men sending boys to do their work?

I cannot, and will not condone using children in this manner, irrespective of how well intentioned the puppetmasters may be.

There can be no reconciliation. We can and should be kind to muslims and everyone else, but Islam and Christianity are irreconcilable.

Peace between them would require sacrifice of deeply held convictions. Not likely in this old world.

We can learn that kids have a lot of innocence as well as hope and faith in humanity that most people have lost a lot of by adulthood.

That we will find peace when religion is gone.
