How many people, Repubs and Dems, will join me?
It's time to stop this bickering, divisive behavior. How many of you will join me in trying harder to listen to others points of view. You don't have to agree with them or believe what they do. Just respect them and lets start to unite our country once again.

I'm with you 100%. This goes along with a Q I posted earlier in elections. This is my first election, I am young, 20 turning 21 next month and even I have enough maturity to know that it's not okay to sit and bash so much on a person because of an affiliation. We are called the UNITED States of America for a reason. People seem to forget that. United means together, the root word is UNI which means one.
Anyways, here's a link to my Q if you'd like to answer it in a mature manner :) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aicm6...

I haven't voted Republican in years, but I voted for McCain. I feel that I have looked at both sides very openly. I did a lot of research on both candidates, because I wanted to be voting the way that I did for a valid reason. This was a difficult year, because I don't agree with McCain on many issues. However, I have figured out that there is one issue that rises above all others for me, and that is the health of our democracy. I believe, after all that I have learned about Obama, that he will tear at the very fabric of our democracy.
II think you are right, the majority of people are not listening to each other. We have a far right and a far left, and each of those groups is growing. Those in the middle who try to pick through what's coming from each side get attacked by both sides. Perhaps after this election is over, we can all be on the look-out for those things that the other side claimed but that we didn't believe, and try to work together where we have common ground. However much I fear Barrack Obama and am disappointed that more people aren't worried, I do believe that most Americans love this country and will fight to protect it when then know it's in danger. That is our main common ground. We just have to keep our ears open and make sure we understand what's going on.

Keep in mind that a lot of people have sacrificed to give us the right to fight like hell amongst our selves and we should not let anyone ever impose upon that right. Fortunately it seems that, while we have our differences, we have always pulled together when times got tough but it now seems like liberals are actually joining our enemies to destroy the country. Conservatives will never allow that to happen regardless how hard liberals try. We have that right as well. The childish name calling and so forth should not have ever started anyway.

If we continue we are only adding to the problems.. I don't know who is going to win (actually i do but just my opinion) but regardless the next few years are going to either make us or break us.. United people are strong and divided we are traveling a road to destruction.
Argueing and blaming is silly... We don't have to agree but we do have to do this as a country not two separate parties fighting over power!

I believe they are already together and now is the time we fight them in Washington. We have to fight the idiots in Washington. Let's come together and do this. Tell all congressional bailout voters they won't be re-elected at the polls today. If they supported the bailout they lost your support. Goodbye Linsey Graham, Goodbye John Spratt, Goodbye John McCain, Goodbye Obama.

i always was a democrat..but i disagree with just one candidate
Oama..now it seems the die is cast and he is elected
I hope he can do what he plans on doing. No matter who is the president it will be a thankless job as some people blame the president
on every little thing that goes wrong in their lives...The President is not a god and have magic powers..Most presidents do the best they can even George W. Bush jr. might have been a dud but he was our dud~

I've always respected and listened to others---whether I agree with them or not.
But what I've seen as far as unity is that people want others to believe what they believe and call it unity. No one wants to compromise. Without compromise, there will be no unity.
Perhaps a better question would be, "In what areas are you willing to compromise to promote unity in America?"

Won't happen. Too many libs like putting down Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber and any other Conservative with traditional values.

That sounds great, but unfortunately I don't consider "Lying" to be a point of view. So until Republicans can face the truth, it's hard to meet them halfway.

I'm okay with that, but my friends and I are going to take a long lunch to celebrate today instead of voting. We aren't going to be needed anyway.
Haha McSame fans. You don't have that luxury! You have to go vote! LOL
