Parents of Special Needs kids, please read ?

I'm a little sad that McCain/Palin didn't win. I was hoping to get a champion in the White House for my 3-year-old son with special needs. My child wasn't supposed to live a day. The fact that he is 3 is such a precious miracle to me! Obama does not value life; which is sad! I hate to see what he is going to do to the health care system. I'm scared for him. I hope I can stay afloat bill wise. Does anyone else agree with me??

You're wrong Rebecca, Obama does love children. He'll do you well with regards to your son. Children no matter if they have special needs or not are special in the eyes of their parents. I lost my son to Bush's war and I know heaartbreak and love for your child scares you every day. But your child will always hold a special place in America no matter who is President. Obama will not leave your child behind. God bless you and your family.

I feel for your child's needs, but special needs children should not be a political platform. And it annoyed me that McCain called out autism particularly - there are children with all kinds of special needs he left out when he did that.

It's not a Presidential issue; it's a Congressional one. The President doesn't decide things like that. So write to your Congresspeople if this is an issue you're passionate about. How much have you actually DONE, as opposed to waiting for your government to do it for you?

And if Obama "doesn't value life," then how did he happen to have two children?

Um, you really think McCain/Palin would have scraped up any extra amount of money for special-needs kids? I heard McCain say that "what education and social programs need to improve is not money." Really? Then what do they need? Magic?

Obama will pass programs to help your child far more than any Republican ever would have. Look up McCain's record on voting for children. He was ranked the WORST SENATOR in the country by one organization for children's health.

"Obama does not value life.": Why do you Republicans act like Dems are forcing people to have abortions in the same way you would like to force people to NOT have abortions? No. Choice is choice. It is valuing life already existing.
