Is this election another example of people refusing sound doctrine to satisfy itching ears?
For the time will come when people will not tolerate healthy doctrine, but with itching ears will surround themselves with teachers who cater to their people's own desires. - 2 Tim 4:3
Is this something we're seeing with this election?

I'd have to say yes. And I am afraid we will see even more of this kind of thing in the near future. Pastors are tickling people's ears and not preaching on salvation or what is to come, so why shouldn't that follow into the political arena as well?

12-7-88: Mikhail Gorbachev was the first world leader to come out publicly with talk of a "new world order,"
...and he did so nearly two years before George Bush caught the vision. In his historic address to the United Nations on December 7, 1988, the Soviet Prime Minister made this dogmatic and even prophetic statement: "Further global progress is now possible only through a quest for universal consensus in the movement towards a new world order."
9-11-90: President George H.W. Bush declared his "New World Order" in a speech before the US Congress:
"We have before us the opportunity to forge for ourselves and for future generations a New World Order, a world where the rule of law, not the law of the jungle, governs the conduct of nations."
1-29-91: President George H.W. Bush declared again in a speech before the US Congress:
"What is at stake is more than one small country; it is a big idea: a new world order, where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause to achieve the universal aspirations of mankind -- peace and security, freedom, and the rule of law. Such is a world worthy of our struggle and worthy of our children's future."
The CFR is rarely mentioned by the mainstream media... Obama is also a 32nd degree Prince Hall Freemason loyal to the Craft and devoted to his principles so forget about the "changes" and start thinking about the same old , same old , coming once again into power.
Obama is illuminati aristocracy. his appearence from 'nowhere', and subsequent rocket to the front of the political line are no coincidence. Believe it or not, Barack Obama is related to both President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney as you can check here: http://www.nypost.com/seven/10172007/new...

And that no man might buy or sell, save [except] he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Rev 13:16-18 KJV
So according to this passage in the Bible the Antichrist will force everyone to accept a mark in either the right hand or forehead of the wearer. Without this mark you won't be able to buy or sell. And then for a bit of intrigue it says, "If you're smart figure this out, the number of the Beast (which has something to do with the Mark) is 666."
Many people that will be a chip implant. It definitely fits the bill of a mark that enables you to buy or sell. If so, then this is the first generation technologically that is capable of such a feat. Not only is the this technology being tested and implemented, it's also being accepted by society (see below). Hardly a week goes by without mention of it in the news media, science journals or elsewhere.

What healthy doctrine did the country not tolerate? I look back over 8 years of failed foreign policy, failed economic policy, failed domestic policy and a litany of terrible decisions by the Republicans in charge.
What you're seeing is a rejection of a party and its ideas by a lot of worried and disgruntled voters. It has no apocalyptic meaning.

I'm sorry, healthy doctrine is not invading another country for virtually no reason. It is not saying we should remain in that country for 100 years. It is not saying we should remove all restrictions upon the market and just hope people's good nature motivates them to be honest and trust worthy.

It is very possible. When Israel wanted a King, Samuel tried to tell them that this was not a good idea. But they persisted despite knowing in advance what would happen. So God does answer the wishes of His creations.
Of course God places all individuals into power, and as long as they act with justice, discernment, and grace, they can be a good leader.

You could apply that passage to either major party candidate. Our choice was really no choice. I voted McCain but I'm not alarmed that Obama won. I believe he'll make a good president in terms of earthy, mortal values the same as McCain would have.

I don't know if this election make my ears any itchier, but I am sleepy.
Does that count?

YES! We are turning our backs and becoming apathetic to the will of God. When we vote for the smooth talker instead of one that is in lock step with God, we turn our backs on God and deserve whatever we get!!! And I promise it will not be good.

This is certainly another nail in our coffin as a nation.
