If you can afford to save 1k a week, do you need to invest?
Is there ever a point where investing is a pointless risk? I'm saving a little under 1100 a week right now and am drawing a pension for my daily expenses. So should I invest the extra or is it even necessary and too risky?
4 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoShould I buy a house with cash or rent for three years?
Being in the military, I can get about 2100 dollars a month for housing. Over three years that is over 75k. Should I buy a house with cash outright and save that 75k or would I end up losing more than the 75k I managed to save?
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoShould I buy a house with cash and save the rent money?
I'm moving to Hawaii soon for at least three years. I have the option to buy a house with cash and save the extra housing money that the military gives ya. After three years, it would mean about 75k that I'm able to save up. Then when it's time to move, I would sell the house. There would be no real estate tax either for me. My main concern is that the house wouldn't sell or would sell for more than the amount of rent money I would have saved up.
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoWhat home improvements produce the highest ROI?
A repossessed home is selling for 50k under the market value for the neighborhood it resides in. I would like to renovate the house as it is dated. What improvements would produce the highest ROI?
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoWill the VA back pay a TDIU claim to a date prior of when I applied for it?
Well I just received the initial rating notice from the VA on a claim that took nearly 9 years to decide. In the claim it said I was 100% for the first three years, and reduced me to 70% for the remaining 5+ years. So now I want to retro rate that 70% back to up 100%. If I apply for TDIU, will they go back prior to the point of when I applied for TDIU, since I was reduced to 70% over 5 years ago? If not, how else could I feasibly get the 70% rating returned to 100% for that time? Also, I have been receiving SSDI for this particular disability during all those years that the VA reduced the rating to 70%. So would that SSDI be evidence enough to maybe appeal the rating reduction? I'm just trying to make sense of this.
1 AnswerMilitary1 decade agoCan Q-Fan be installed on a A8V-X mobo? If so, how?
I have cool n quiet running correctly, but I've noticed that Q-fan is not an option in my BIOS. Is there a way to get it in there so I can enable it? I've looked for a bios update, but that's not working. Any tips?
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoIf God is causing everything for the good of everyone, does it make life more tolerable?
I know there is a debate whether or not God causes everything, most people cannot imagine it being that way. But this question is focused on the possibility that everything is happening just as God directs it to do.
If this were the case, would it make life's troubles, trials, and suffering more tolerable? Or would it just tick you off even more?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow can I go about getting a psychiatrist's notes about me corrected?
I was going through the notes of a psychiatrist that had been seeing me and noticed a couple of errors regarding my past treatment history. Is there a correct way to get these errors fixed besides actually talking to the psychiatrist himself?
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoMy Mercruiser I/O sputters, sometimes to a stall. It revs fine, but terrible idle. Any solutions out there?
I've thought about water in the gasoline, and have put Prestone Water Remover in the gas tank.
I've thought about the fuel filter, but from what I've read, if the filter was bad, then it would sputter when I accelerated, which it does not.
The boat accelerates just fine, zero issues. It idles extremely rough and stalls when put in gear if you don't rev the engine right away. It will also stall if left in idle for more than a minute.
After scouring the internet, I'm at a loss. What could be the solution?
2 AnswersBoats & Boating1 decade agoIs there a site where you can interact with people in a 3d world and browse real world stores like a mall?
I've been to kinset, there doesn't seem to be an option to meet people. I've seen virtualeshopping, but there are zero people in any of those stores. And I've tried yoowalk. That's more along the lines of what I'm looking for but I was hoping someone knew of something else.
4 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat were the books where a brother and sister would solve mysteries and the answers were written in reverse?
I used to read these books all the time. It came with a picture that the brother would have drawn of the crime scene. The sister would interview people and by the end of the story, they'd have solved the mystery. Then the answer would be written in the back of the book, written backwards. You could either learn how to read the story backwards or look at it in a mirror and read it that way.
Does this strike a memory with anyone?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoWill there be a split in the US if Obama takes us into a one world government?
I know people think we're already in the one world government and that Obama is just the straw that broke the camel's back since he's already received congratulations from the Iranian president.
But are people ready to break from the country, start anew, or are we too far gone?
2 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs it time for the US to split into two nations?
It's pretty obvious we have two very polar divides in this country that can't wait to pick on each other's party in the most vile ways.
Are we really united any more or is that a facade?
25 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo civil rights leaders make a profit by keeping people dependent on the government?
Is JC Watts right by calling them race-hustling poverty pimps?
Is racism fed by people turning a profit off of it?
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat can we do for the babies now that Obama wants to eliminate all restrictions on abortion?
Is there any moral outrage to Obama's promise to sign a Freedom of Choice Act?
This is a guy that thinks it's ok to kill a kid that is halfway born.
That sounds worse than anything this world has known.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs this election another example of people refusing sound doctrine to satisfy itching ears?
For the time will come when people will not tolerate healthy doctrine, but with itching ears will surround themselves with teachers who cater to their people's own desires. - 2 Tim 4:3
Is this something we're seeing with this election?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre there any organizations geared towards making restitution to Native Americans?
I've always been saddened at how Native Americans were treated and how the US government even tried to destroy their culture. I am curious to know if there's an organization one can join to help restore their way of life and culture?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhere in the bible was anyone "slain in the spirit" as Benny Hinn so often does?
I think most people can tell Benny Hinn is an old con artist that bilks people with his dog and pony show, but some people apparently think this is legitimate and he isn't the only flim flam practicing this spirit slaying practice either.
So here's a challenge to anyone, post the scripture that shows where people were slain in the spirit and lived to tell about it? Where were people struck down or thrown back by a touch, or wave of the hand, not counting Star Wars.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWere Adam and Eve suppose to fall by design?
In the scriptures it says God is indeed creating stubborness or hardening whomever He will. - Romans 9:18
And in another scripture it points out that God created the waster to destroy. - Isaiah 54:16
In a book or movie, the audience is acquainted with the main character's qualities, most often, through adversary such as a super hero movie. Without the need for a hero, the movie might be an odd collection of images, with no depth into character development.
Is it possible that Adam and Eve never knew God's character or qualities until He made it obvious to them about their innate human failings with the whole tree test?
