Absolutely! You took the words right outta my mouth. Unbelievable, Im not sure what it proves. Ignorance, low IQ scores, who knows.
From a family with deep military roots who fought and died so we could be a free nation under GOD not allah- Im sure some of them are rolling in their graves right now. Not to mention the family members I still have fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are we fighting the threat of radical Islam? I guess not anymore.

Yes, I think it's amazing that we elected someone with that name. I see some of us still can't even spell it right.
Let me tell you something. I was in WTC Tower 1 at 8:46 a.m. on 9-11-2001. So were many Muslim co-workers, as well as Jews (yes, Israelis included @@), Christians, Buddhists, American black people, Asians of varying national origins, Africans of varying national origins, Uzbeks, Ukrainians, people with disabilities...you get the idea.
The people responsible for killing 80 of my other co-workers and destroying our buildings were the people who planned and executed the attacks, not anyone who looked like them, claimed the same religion, or had similar names.
It's pathetically ironic that the WTC was a place where most people of different backgrounds got along yet was attacked because of hate. Why don't we work on keeping the spirit of that place instead of making up stupid reasons to perpetuate the type of hate that destroyed it?
I am white, five generations American from Europe, and I voted for the brown-skinned guy with the funny name because I thought he was the best candidate for the country. It's called taking each person as an individual and not assigning negative attributes to him or her because of external factors. I suggest others try practicing this habit. Life is much better when you do.
I'd rather risk another attack than let prejudices destroy my soul from within.
****
And got a thumbs-down for saying that. Geez.
Afterthought--MY middle name is Ellen, but I am not a Lesbian with her own talk show.

Its funny cause I said the same thing when i first found out there was someone with that name running for president. I started doing my homework on him and found out you can't judge someone by a name their given ever Barack himself made fun of it. Its a name he was born in the country, he cares about this country he has to to want to fix the mess Bush made.

I think it's pretty amazing. I'm totally in love with our country right now. I couldn't be more proud. Anything can happen. Anything is possible as long as you work hard. Extremely proud to be an American right now!!

Right.
Because someone's NAME, something they have no control over, tells a lot about what kind of leader they will be
(and for what it's worth, I didn't vote for Obama)
Come on.
Pick a better arguement

What does a person's name have to do with who they are and what they stand for?

It seems almost like americans would be more interested in relevant information than slander and bigotry. Go figure.
