Since it's no longer a matter of "if" we'll get attacked but rather "when",?
we'll get attacked. Do you think radical terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda will see the Obama Administration as a strong administration or a weak administration? Why or Why not? And if it's a strong possibility that we will get attacked, do you think that it's smart to cut military spending by 25% as proposed by the Democrats?

Pull your head out of your butt please?
Unlike you, I refuse to bury my head in the sand on the fact that there are some scary days ahead, no matter who's president. And btw, I'm no kid. You on the other hand? I have to wonder.
The rest of you? I may not agree with your idealogy, but I do appreciate your thoughtful answers. keep it up!

So, they decreased the percentage of the cut. Obama also plans to increase the size of the military, and a large portion of the cuts are going to be in recruiting, which only means one thing, the draft.
Well boys and girls, (yes girls, Obama promised), get ready to watch for your draft numbers, since Obama doesn't intend to bring the troops home, just redeploy them to Africa and Afghanistan. All the while cutting the budget and increasing the size of the military.
Policy wise, Johnson+Carter=Obama. Two failed administrations are the models for Obama's administration.

It never was a question of "if". A new administration would still be tested even if McCain won. Had McCain won, I think we would see another terrorist attack. However, I believe with Obama as president, Islamic terrorist groups are more likely to adopt a wait-and-see approach. I believe they will see if Obama would actually address some of their concerns before pushing him into an opposition position with a terrorist attack. Although, I think other nations, like Russia and China, are more likely to challenge American influence across the world with more stunts like the Georgia invasion. Considering our economic problems, I think it would still be smart to cut military spending. Dealing with other nations like Russia and China will require more diplomacy than military posturing anyway.

The world will see the US as being weak. It has already started. Being that Bush is a lame duck and Obama has no foreign affairs experience (except that speech in Germany), Russia decided to place missiles on its border with Poland yesterday. It is only a matter of time before Russia reenters Georgia and seizes the natural gas pipeline that supplies Europe.

We can cut Military spending by bringing our troops home, and out of harms way. It will also make our borders safer, having all our troops home where they belong. We don't have to be the Sheriff of the world just because we are the "Chip Leader". We need to pick our battles with clarity and discretion, not based on ego, or profit potential.
As for the fact that we will be attacked from some other country. This is not our biggest threat. Our biggest threats come from right here at home where principalities and powers of darkness in high places, seek to undermine the integrity of this nation.

I think they think of him as a friend, why else would they call him up to congratulate him on winning?? I think they not take us as a threat, seeing that our president-elect is close with them, and they will wipe us all out like little green army men! I agree there are scary days ahead...I just hope the American People will wake us and see that this guy is a joke, and that he is not good to lead our country.
I'm 17, but I know darn well enough that this guy is not sumone to mess around with, and that it's not going to be a fun 4 yrs. He has already stated that we are going to have to 'suffer' a bit in his acceptance Speech, that's just a sign to say that we are REALLY going to have to suffer....can't people see right trough this guy? He's CRAZY!

It's possible to cut military spending and actually IMPROVE our safety. Lots of the money spent by the military is spent in other countries. We could stop sticking our noses into other countries' business and shut down some of our military bases abroad and use half of that money to build up our infrastructure here on our own land.
Also, getting out of Iraq would save BILLIONS!!!!

I don;'t think the military can do a damn thing to prevent a terrorist attack. Tanks and jets don't protect you from terrorists. Law enforcement and vigilant citizens do. Anybody can detonate at any given time if they are crazy enough to do it. Pumping billions and billions into the defense budget does not make us any safer.

you sound like you are looking forward to an attack!
are you out of your mind?
do you have any idea what a trauma 9/11 has been for thousands of people?
this is not a video game, kid, it's real life.
get a grip and act like a human being!
your hysteria is really making you look like a fool.
too much fox news, i guess?
what you should do is get down into a deep deep atomic shelter, bring enough food for the next 8 years at least, and let us repair the damage that your bush darling has done.
but don't come here and call armaggedon on us because you cannot accept democracy, and the will of the people.

A cut of 25% of military spending at the current time would be no problem if we would eliminate our presence in IRAQ rather than wasting time and resources, not to mention lives. That alone would save us several billion dollars a year.

VP-elect Joe Biden said that the next president will be tested. He did not say where or by whom. He only said when, with in the first six months. It could be Syria going nuclear that will be problematic.
