Im in the reserves and see no problem occurring in either. I will still re-enlist after my 6 years, I'm planning on becoming a lifer until retirement. I see us pulling out of Iraq, going into Afghanistan. Funding will be cut, but that will only cut the amount of actives and reserves overseas. This will be unlike McCain's plan that would have taken funding out of our equipment, leaving us with crap. Things will not be much different from Iraq. More terrorist actions will occur along with a surge in causalities. By 2015 or so we will fully be out of the middle east, dealing with a larger threat coming from the far east. Hope this helped.

the government do no longer care approximately those people that positioned our existence on the line for the country. We make up under one million% of the inhabitants. It won't substitute the consequence of votes on the polland that they comprehend it. each 12 months I even have been interior the militia a splash greater of our advantages get taken away.

Yes, I plan on not returning to my military career, largely because of my age and the fact that I was booted on a medical. So now, instead of sitting on my nether region in the hospital seeing patients, I am sitting at home collecting pretty much the same pay I got then for ...sitting on my nether region and not doing anything at all. For this, I would like to thank both Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain for voting us disabled vets a 5.8% raise. Similarly, I would like to thank Mr. Bush for signing it into law in a most expedient manner.

The military will go on with Mr. Obama, just like it would've with Mr. McCain. SSDD...and if you are or were military, you know what SSDD means, right?

EDIT FOR RACHEL: Hmm, political bumper stickers condemning the President-Elect. Please tell me who the CO of that base is...and I will drop off a letter to my Senators. That is a very big no-no.

I've served under 3 presidents in 18 years. Very little difference in the day to day operations.

NOTE to Rachael: So your husband is getting out when? Didn't think so.

NOTE to Ygg: Some people say Merry Christmas, I say SSDD.

The administration changes every 4-8 years. You do not see a mass exodus because of it. I see no long changes in peoples plans just because of the change in administration. I do see possibility of cuts in the size of force, but who knows if that will happen.

It won't affect me at all.

I re-upped for 6 years a month before the election.

Probably more people stay to re-enlist cause they know they probably get deployment after deployment in Iraq, however is soon to tell cause Obama ain't president yet!

Any career military man or woman doesn't care who is President because we have served during Reps and Dems. We just want to be supported and sent to die or kill for a good cause!

Obama does NOT care about the military or he would have visited the wounded soldiers in Germany when he had the opportunity.

there will be a mass exodus from the military......um yeah, and to all the other posters who spoke directly to me....I'm on Fort Hood....and to Cordelia who said "When is your husband getting out? Didn't think so"....Don't be such a rude *itch....My husband is getting out of the Army after this enlistment so keep your attitude to yourself...please and thank you! I didn't give you any attitude, so I don't deserve any. Literally EVERY military member I have met says they do not beleive in Obama and cannot continue under his (perceived) crappy military leadership....they have all said they will leave the military if Obama is elected. And I am an Obama supporter, so don't say mean crap to me. I've only met ONE military serivcemember who actually thinks Obama is an okay guy....
