How to treat lice or dandruff?
My little cousin I like to spend lots of time with, has a lot of constant itching, and when I looked in her hair I reallly can not tell the difference, whether it is dandruff or lice. So about a year ago, I bought her dandruff shampoo, but it seems like her itching became worse. Is there anything we could buy, instead of those home remedies?
please help
Could someone please tell me if lice can be dangerous, we are so busy, we were thinking of getting her the items later

If it is lice they will be moving, my little girl got it in kindergarten. You can do one of those dandruff treatments on her head for the itching if it isn't lice. If it is lice, let me save you some money. I bought several bottles of the RID for lice and picked and picked those things out of my little girls head and they were still there. I talked with an old person and they told me this home remedy and it worked!!! I bought a squeeze bottle of mayo and dawn dish soap. I covered her whole head in mayo and put a shower cap on her head, let her play in the tub for about 30 minutes with the cap on, after that I rinsed out the mayo and then used the dawn dish soap to cut the grease and get the rest of the mayo out. The lice were gone and I have been telling everyone this trick ever since. My niece got lice and this worked on her too, saving my sister lots and lots of money on those expensive lice medicines and shampoos that don't work.

if it lice there are some over the counter stuff that you could use - part her hair and look to see if anything is moving - if so ITS lice but that is by no means a guarantee - they could be dead - it you determine that it is dandruff get a shampoo that contains tar - you can find them at any drug Store or even dollar general / family dollar - they could be less costly - use it two to three times a week until you get it under Control - also be very sure that what ever type of grease or oil you put in her hair DO NOT CONTAIN alcohol - this is very important because that will dry out her scalp -

if it is lice you need to get the special lice shampoo that you can buy at any department store to get rid of them, if it is dandruff you can take her to the doctor and have them perscribe a type of shampoo to make it go away if any of the over the counter stuff is not working.

It may not be either. She may have a dry scalp. Take her to the doc. If it was lice you would have gotton it too.
