Where can we elope in Edmonton, AB?
Where in Edmonton can we elope? Is there an office or courthouse that has JP's there to do it? Or do we have to have the ceremony at our home?

Call City Hall on Monday morning. They will be able to tell you if there is a marriage commissioner on duty. (I don't know about Edmonton, but Calgary City Hall went without a marriage commissioner for years.) If that fails, open the yellow pages and look under "Marriage Commissioners".
Alberta is not like American TV. Judges and JPs do not automatically have the right to solemnize marriages. The only people who can do so are registered clergy members and secular marriage commissioners.
Becoming a marriage commissioner is a long, drawn-out procedure, and because of that there aren't many of them. (There are fewer marriage commissioners in all of Alberta than in my neighbourhood in Winnipeg.) Because there are so few it can be difficult to find one who will marry you on short notice. Luckily, November is the slow season so you'll probably have better luck than you would in June.
Remember that you need to get your marriage license and registration first.
If you are a same-sex couple, beware that secular marriage commissioners in Alberta can refuse to solemnize your marriage. The Unitarian minister will solemnize same-sex marriages, but he or she may be busy - you could try calling if you can't find anyone else to do it.
Edited because for some reason I thought you were in Calgary.

I take it you're not from Edmonton. Every major city has a courthouse that can do it for you. You can have the ceremony at your home if you'd like too.
For a civil ceremony though in Alberta they are called "marriage commissioners" not JP's. A marriage commissioner can marry you anywhere you want. So can a minister/pastor.
