What causes blue fingers blue fingers?
I visited my elderly grandmother yesterday and noticed that the tips of her fingers (from the knuckle up) were a dark color blue. She wasnt in any pain her temperature was normal and the temperature of the house was normal. The weather here outsdide if not yet cold. Does anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like cyanosis to me. Poor circulation or lack of oxygen reaching the extremities. Raynaud's disease is characterized by these symptoms. Keep her hands warm and if she smokes, get her to cut down or quit.

usually oxygen depreviation but, she's compenstated for it by now, she probably has shortness of breath that she tolerates too. Probably has history or current heart/lung circulatory disorders finger tips will get bluish and lack sensation and she might not notice. did you ask her? wearing gloves helps if cold, but, maybe Raynauld's phenomena or if it doesn't bother her...
