Is there such a thing as a remote control sensor extender (read on for a proper explanation of what I want)?

Is there such a thing as a sensor which could be plugged into a sky box and can pick up the remote control signal. I want to mount a tv on the wall but want to out the sky box in the cupboard beside it but run a lead out that has a sensor so that I can still control the sky box. Does such a thing exist and if so can anyone tell me where I would get one? Thanks for the help

Try one of these. They are intended for use with a second TV in a different room from your Sky box but could be used to change chanels on your main set if you want to hide your box away. Check the link.

Here are a couple of sources for remote extenders.

Most are overkill for what you need and meant for extending to the next room.

The remotes are infrared so you may be able to leave a cupboard door open or put a small hole or window to shoot the original remote through.

Any of these would work for you.

    good luck!
