What are Jehovah Witness true beliefs?
I know they don't believe in the Trinity but even a close friend who attends a Kingdom Hall and has for over 6yrs can not seem to explain why to me.
I also don't understand why they need a brochure that is world wide to go against the word of God in the Bible.
I know about the lack of belief in any holidays but I do not understand the part about the angels that no JW can seem to explain to me either.
When I ask hard questions as a true Christian that does not belong, that is when they don't want to preach to you anymore.
What are their true beliefs and why?
I'm sorry if I sound somewhat vague as I have a friend of 27yrs that has been an active member but not baptized as of yet. I have even been to the Memorial service once so I'm not judging; I am truly asking these questions so I may better understand.
As a Christian it is not for me to judge as that is my own belief as how I should act.
The Angels I refer to were mentioned one day in my own church and (not sure about sp?) I think they are called Seraphs?
I just want to know more and I've read many Watch Tower publications and I also don't understand why only the New English Bible is the only one used. I've been told because it is a true translation and not a version but please explain that farther if possible and I appreciate all your answers.
I do know Jehovah is God's name.
May He bless us all

Give me a second and I'll go cut and paste some basics.
OK - Look at the bottom also for another question.
This is from a similar question. But also definitely check www.watchtower.org.
Jehovah is God Almighty.
Jesus Christ is the first creation of Jehovah.
Adam and Eve were created perfect but lost the opportunity to live forever on a paradise earth by choosing to sin.
Jesus was sent to live as a human and buy back or pay the ransom price so we may live as God intended, on a paradise earth.
Jesus has been designated the king of a new government, God's heavenly kingdom which will bring all this about.
144,000 are chosen from the earth to rule with Christ in heaven.
1000 years are set aside to accomplish this.
Those who have died before the thousand years will also have an opportunity of living in paradise by means of a resurrection to earth
In time, Satan and the wicked angels who followed him will be removed forever from being able to influence us toward wrongdoing.
We believe in the sanctity of life, no abortions, no blood transfusions.
Our allegiance goes only to God's kingdom. We are neutral toward all politics of any nation.
We do not go to war.
We honor Jehovah and help our neighbor through our community preaching activity.
There are other things. But this gives you the basics. I did not include the scriptures but they are available for each point if requested.
Thanks for your sincere curiosity.
ALSO - can you explain what it is about "angels' that you don't understand? I'll be glad to try to explain when I understand the question better.
We don't believe the Trinity because it is a belief that is not contained in the Bible. Jehovah is superior to Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God. The holy spirit is God's energy, his power, in action. When Jehovah decides he want something done, he directs his energy or power to accomplish it. Whether this is creation, the writing of the Bible, or having miracles performed such as multiplying food, or bringing back the dead. The holy spirit is not a separate person.
What really helps to make this plain is a scripture in Numbers 11:25 where Jehovah "took away some of the spirit that was upon him (Moses) and put it upon each of the seventy older men".
Does that sound like another person? Being taken from one person and spread out to 70 others? So if the holy spirit is not a person, there is no Trinity.
EDIT:
WATCH YOUR EMAIL - I WILL SEND INFO ON ANGELS.
EDIT AGAIN:
Concerning the New World Translation - its usage at the Kingdom Hall is no different than other churches preferring th King James or the New International Version.
We use one translation in our meetings for consistency of looking up and being "on the same page".
But if you have read any of the literature over the years, you will see that although we do use the NWT more often, we do use other translations also. A prime example of this was in the Nov 1st Watchtower magazine where other translations were used very often. We want people to see that what we believe is in ANY translation of the Bible, not just the one we regularly use.
At home, I have about 30 translations that I frequently refer to in my personal study. Some verses I actually prefer over the NWT. But for accuracy, I do always look in the NWT also.
BTW - email sent.

We don't believe in the Trinity because it's not supported by the Bible
John 3:16-God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son.
John14:28 I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.
We don't need brochures world wide. They are for you and others who want to learn about the Bible. You can read them in the comfort of your own home on your own time and look up the scriptures yourself.
If you've ever read any of our literature you'll see that we're not against the Bible we're quoting scriptures to answer your questions.
What's your question about angels? What other hard questions? You're being very vague for us to explain things to you.
Just because some people can't explain something doesn't mean none of us can. I couldn't explain some of our beliefs until I did the research myself. Six years is not a long time to understand "the deep things of God".
Not wanting to preach to you anymore is a load of bull. There are billions of people in the world it takes a while to go around to everyone. If you want us to come by and talk more often tell us and we'll make a note of it. Other than that you're gonna have to wait like everyone else.
We have a lot of beliefs just ask which ones you have questions about.
Hope this helps!!!!

Hey YUHATEME! Christians are no longer under Mosaic Law. Jesus came to fulfill it. That Law was just a shadow or tutor leading to Jesus Christ. (Gal. 3:24-28; Heb. 10:1-4, 10, 18) I am grateful to the questioner for his accurate & kind words. You looked for yourself instead of accepting gossip. We do only go by what the Bible actually teaches. This is totally different from other religions and causes them to hate us. The Bible teaches it is because we tell the truth. I feel today, it is also because of the effect on the clergy's wallet. Who would give them anything when they find out the clergy has been teaching lies? Some might even demand a refund! Now what about you? Come join us! You know what is correct. Don't wait till it is too late. Either when the time of our ministry will be closed or, like me get physically messed up so as not be able to go out.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe in Almighty God, Jehovah, Creator of the heavens and the earth. Hence, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the earth will remain forever and that all people, living and dead, who will fit in with Jehovah’s purpose for a beautified, inhabited earth may live on it forever. Human rule and failure does not make Jehovah’s purpose fail. Thousands of years later, it was written: “God, the Former of the earth . . . , did not create it simply for nothing.” He “formed it even to be inhabited.” It is not to be destroyed, but “the earth endures for ever.” (Isaiah 45:18; Ecclesiastes 1:4, 'The New English Bible') Jehovah’s purpose for the earth will be realized: “My own counsel will stand, and everything that is my delight I shall do.”—Isaiah 46:10.
WHAT JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES BELIEVE -

Daniel 7:13, 14; Matthew 6:10.
Kingdom will bring ideal living conditions to earth. Psalms 72:1-4; Revelation 7:9, 10, 13-17; 21:3, 4
People God approves will receive everlasting life - John 3:16; 10:27, 28; 17:3;
Mark 10:29, 30.
Hope for dead is resurrection . 1 Cor. 15:20-22;
John 5:28, 29; 11:25, 26.

A Christian ought to have no part in interfaith movements, 2 Cor. 6:14-17; 11:13-15; Gal. 5:9; Deuteronomy 7:1-5
Obey human laws that do not conflict with God’s laws Matthew 22:20, 21; 1 Peter 2:12; 4:15
A clergy class and special titles are improper. Matthew 23:8-12; 20:25-27;
Job 32:21, 22
It is not possible here to cover all the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but we invite you to obtain further information.

A better question: Did the Apostle John believe in the Holy Trinity?
The Apostle John did his writings in Greek. The word “god” is spelled four different ways in Greek, and he used all four. Buy yourself an Interlinear Greek Translation of the New Testament to look it up.
John never used the same spelling in reference to THE WORD (Christ) and to his Father. He did use the same spelling in reference to THE WORD, Satan, and men, as what? God or a god? Was Satan also God?

We deny the Trinity because God is not plural. God is singular. If there is more than one Almighty God persons in heaven then Almighty God is common. Almighty God is not common.

There are many questions in your question. Which one should I address?
1) The trinity is not supported by the Bible. Jesus is not God, but he is God's SON. Jesus himself said "the Father is greater than I am" in John 14:28.
2) Our brochures do not go against the word of God, but rather they serve the purpose of helping people understand the Bible in ways that are easy to understand. Our preaching work is done all over the earth and the message we carry is the same one that Jesus carried: God's Kingdom.
3) What part about the angels?

I have studied the Jehovah's Witnesses for over 14 years! I will list some of their major doctrines and you can also visit their website at watchtower.org
1. They do not believe in the trinity. They have John 1:1 reading "and the word was a god" in their bible version.
2. Jesus is Michael the Archangel in Heaven and was the first thing Jehovah God (the father) created. Col. 1:15 in their version
3. The Holy Spirit is not a spirit. Instead it is God's active force. (like electricity)
4. Hell is just mankind's common grave and not a place of torment.. They usually misread the passages in Psalms and Ecc.
5. Jesus died on an upright stake and not a cross.
6. They do not believe in celebrating Christmas or birthdays.
7. They believe Christ returned invisibly in 1914.
8. They believe that Jesus' ressurection was not bodily, but as a spirit creature.
9. They believe that only 144,000 will go to Heaven. The rest of them will live forever on Paradise Earth.
There are alot more, but that is a good piece of their beliefs. If you are interested in learning how to combat their doctrine, I encourage you to get the book, "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses" by Ron Rhodes. Feel free to contact me if you need further info or help.
