Why do some people think the Iphone is the greatest thing man has invented, since the wheel?

I hear that argument, and I don't get it. I have seen better phones, some with TV tuners.

Sure, it plays music well, friendly web browsing and such. But with only 2MP camera, problematic MMS, no stereo bluetooth (for a music device) or bt file transfer for that matter, no FM radio, no video chat option (for any version)...

I'm deciding on a new phone, and almost everyone is telling me to buy that. But I'm not impressed.

Haha I agree. The iPhone isn't as great as everyone says it is. The only thing I really liked about it was the touch screen and the fact that it could act as both my iPod and my phone.

Personally, I think the Dare (verizon) is pretty great. Its like the iPhone, minus iTunes friendliness. Though, it's a lot smaller, and you can actually customize it and take good pictures with it. :o woah. Can't do that on an iPhone.

    I recommend it :]

    iPhones just aren't that great.

I think a lot of people are excited by the iPhone because of what it represents, an easy and prolific introduction to a new digital age where everyone has a personal computer attached to their wrists. And it is easier to use than most other devices (which appeals to older generations). However, you are right, iPhone does not offer as many options as it should. And you can still only use it on the AT&T network, which bites, hard. You would be better off shopping around on your own. I know there are devices out there which have most (if not all) of the options you are looking for that are still on a 3G network.

It all depends on what is important to you. If you would rather have a better camera or sports TV over an ipod and other cool apps than maybe the iphone isn't for you. I recently bought an iphone and I couldn't be happier. It is one of the coolest items I have ever bought. I was skeptical and thought the iphone was completely overrated for the longest time, but when it came time for me to get a new phone I shopped around the iphone was the only one that blew me away. Good luck with your search!
