Has anyone heard about Mr. Obama's grandma's funeral?

The funeral HAD to stay out of the news. Those vile fake Christians from Westboro Baptist who picket the funerals of soldiers who died in the Gulf, were going to hunt the funeral down and picket the ceremony.

Barack Obama's Grandmother, who died just before she got to see her grandson become the first black president of the United States, will have a private burial, said the family earlier in the week.

The location and date of the funeral will likely go undisclosed.

That doesn't seem to stop the geniuses over at the Westboro Baptist church, famous for protesting at soldier's funerals, who have announced they will try to protest at Obama's grandmother's funeral as well.

I won't post the link to it since the whole thing stinks, but here's a quote from their release:

WBC to picket the funeral of Madelyn

Payne Dunham, - pursuant to the

picketing laws of Hawaii or Kansas or,

etc., wherever burial occurs, - in

religious protest and warning to the

They remind me of this verse;

2nd Timothy 3:1-5 Remember that there will be difficult times in the last days. People will be selfish, greedy, boastful, and conceited; they will be insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and irreligious; they will be unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent, and fierce; they will hate the good; they will be treacherous, reckless, and swollen with pride; they will love pleasure rather than God; they will hold to the outward form of our religion, but reject its real power. Keep away from such people.

Hi Sandy, I read somewhere yesterday that there was a memorial service a few days ago- about 150 people attended but none of the Obama's were there. I will try to find the link & come back to post it. :)

Edit: It was in the African Press International- I just tried to go back in it and the link has been suspended for violating terms of service. Kind of like Y/A I guess!

I know I had read that she was cremated and that she had a spot for her ashes next to Obama's mothers and grandfathers.

If I remember correctly, I believe that it said there would be a memorial service later.

Correction - the ashes are not with the grandfather and his mothers were spread by Obama - they aren't sure what ashes wil be done with yet - sorry

Didn't hear anything about it. Maybe she passed away earlier than they released and when he actually went to Hawaii about a week earlier....that was for the funeral.

actually, no, but there hasn't been a picture of her with Obama for a quarter of a century either.

maybe the same reason we heard nothing about him.

Obama (GOD) sent her right to heaven.....

Obama kicked her to the curb no longer needing her he doesnt want to waste his time with he won`t get anything in return..
