What is the most precious promise God has made that you have claimed as your own?

As a Christian, I read of many who defame God, or claim that God is a fairytale. I would love to hear from those whom God has made His Word real to you. Thumbs up and 10 points to the best answer.

For example, these verses mean to me that God hears my prayers and answers them.

1Jo 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1Jo 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Update:

Isa 40:22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

    Revelation 21:1-8 (New International Version)

    Revelation 21

    The New Jerusalem

1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

5He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

6He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

I am looking forward to the new earth and expecially verse's 3-4 : )

I don't have any bible verses to go with mine. This was also more of an assurance than a promise too.

My dad had been an alcoholic since before I was born. I'm 20 so that's a long time. About a year ago it was the worst it had ever been. He had lost everything and was homeless. It was the worst feeling in the world to see someone I loved so much be in such a bad situation. I bought him a hotel room on christmas eve just so I know he could wake up in a bed the next morning. He fell over passing out so many times because he was so drunk. I thought he was going to die. Every time I saw him I would have to leave knowing that he was going to be sleeping in the woods that night. Nothing has ever hurt as much as this. One day he wanted me to take him to clearwater so he could straighten out his life. He could go to AA meetings and he was on parole so there was less of a chance he would get caught. I dropped him off at a mall with his back pack. I didn't hear from him for months.

I then got a call from him and he was in jail. I knew that he needed to be there. A few months later I was going on a missions trip to Mexico.

I got calls from him but I was so busy I could never answer it. I then called the number and found out he was no longer in jail. This was the day before I was going to go on my trip and I was so worried. I thought of not even going because I was afraid he would fall into the same thing again. I felt like a failure. Like I didn't do my job. I was supposed to look up places for him to go when he would leave jail, but I had not found any yet. I was so stressed and so worried. Then God spoke to me. He told me that I don't need to worry. I could have compassion for someone, but don't take their burden. He told me that my dad had given his burden to Jesus. It was hard for me to believe. I didn't listen and kept worrying. That night I finally got in touch with him. The whole time he was in jail he had been doing bible studies. His hearing was in Port Richey which is kind of far from the jail. He didn't even know if he was going to be released. He did, but when he left he had no where to go. It just so happened that the guy that did the bible studies was in the parking lot. He called a bunch of places and found somewhere for my dad to stay. My dad didn't even have to pay rent for the first few months and got allowance. He has been going to meetings everyday and has been great ever since! It just amazes me how God was telling me that I didn't have to worry in the first place. He has done so much in my life and my dad's life, and He keeps blessing me everyday.

From my personal standpoint, it's John 3:16 "For GOD loved the world so much that he gave his only Son that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". The verses after it are also very comforting. I feel that this is the most precious promise that GOD has made to me.

There are so many to choose from, though I guess ultimately they all come down to the same promise.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

    John 1:12,13

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11-14

But I think the most precious has to be the covenant promise in Jeremiah:

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel

after that time," declares the LORD.

"I will put my law in their minds

and write it on their hearts.

    I will be their God,

and they will be my people.

No longer will a man teach his neighbor,

or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'

because they will all know me,

from the least of them to the greatest,"

    declares the LORD.

"For I will forgive their wickedness

and will remember their sins no more."

    Jeremiah 31:33,34

" Happy the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock." Psalm 137:9

I have always wanted to try this. I imagined how happy I would feel, but I was conflicted with feelings of wrongness and misgivings concerning the nature of my own conscience. Then I found bible-god and was very pleased to discover that he doesn't have a problem with this.

I would never do this, of course, because those silly liberal secular laws of society frown upon it and I am obligated to abide by them.

Regardles, I'm just filled with a sense of comfort knowing that bible god and me are on the same page.

You can believe whatever you want, I won't try to change your mind. But you are basing your beliefs on a book that was written 2000 years ago by people who didn't know the earth was round.
