I save the end pieces until last. I'll either eat them myself or give them to the birds. The last loaf of bread; the end pieces ended up as french toast.

We save that to keep the rest of the loaf fresher, but when all of the "real bread" is gone, my husband or I will eat the crusts.

    Even in Pizza.

If I can't afford to buy bread, I will finally eat the first and last pieces.

I baked that bread - there's nothing wrong with the crust.

In fact, we fight over who gets it.

I never eat it, No one else in the house will either. I always have to throw the first and last piece in the trash. Maybe I ought to feed it to the birds................On second thought maybe not. Because then I'll have a bunch of pigeons hanging around my door every day.

My husband does, but he's weird.

Actually, you can use this piece of bread for making fresh or dried bread crumbs. Use your food processor, or blender. In a blender, make only half a slice at a time.

I ALWAYS go in 2 or 3 slices for the freshest pieces.

My b/f on the other hand loves that crusty piece.

    Nasty.
