Why atheists are so interested in religion?

I read all time questions about religion posted by people that declares that they are non-believers, agnostics, atheists or so, and sometimes not very respectfully. I would like to hear an explanation. Are they really comfortable in their lives?

Most Atheists that post questions in the religion and spirituality section are still completely befuddled as to why anyone would actually believe the stuff that people here claim to believe.

It's kind of like going past a train wreck - and you can't look away.

I am very comfortable in my life. I have become so by trying my best to remove or change things that are UNcomfortable. One of those things is Religion.

It has an impact on my life and hardly ever in a good way.

Atheists tent to examine all the evidence before making a decision. I have a question for you. Why are Christians so uninterested in science?

This isn't a Christian site, nor is it for believers only. If you don't like that perhaps you should post to a religious only board. That aside, I come here for a lot of laughs.

Do you have any idea how much suffering is caused by supernatural beliefs?

Your gods may be fake, but the damage believers do is very real.

Without god-beliefs the two towers in NY would still be standing.

If I could completely avoid it that would be great. But too many people attempt to impose what their religion says on me and others to the point that I think people's rights are violated and that it is holding back scientific and social progress.

Because even though I am an atheist I am also a Satanist which is a religion

just because i'm not religious doesn't mean i'm somehow magically unaffected by religion. religion has a big impact on our society. i'm curious into finding out why people believe what they believe, and hopefully see if there is any way of talking reason into these people.

Actually, we're only interested when fundies attempt to compel our kids' schools to teach creationism, deny Evolutionary theory and otherwise attempt to interfere with our lives.

Why are you so interested in atheists? You posted the question.

It's hard not to notice and comment about religion when those who follow it are right now violating the constitution and denying constitutional rights to others.

I'm interested in what constitutional rights you're going to be denying to what group next. Tell me do you have the gameplan for your anti-Americam, anti-freedom, anti-constitution hategroup?
