Why does the world hate America?
I don't get it, why does the world hate us right now? Is it because of Bush and the Iraq war, or because we triggered a global recession? Thoughts please.

Do you blame them?
Regards.

That is a misleading belief. The entire world obviously does not hate the United States, and hatred has existed for millenniums. However the specific countries that do/did show animosity towards the US at some point or another, do/did so because of the US's actions against them. There is not a single country that hates the US just because it did nothing. In fact, had the US remained isolationist, I believe that at worst, countries would feel indifference instead of hatred towards the US. Let me give you an example... in today's society, there is a large amount of hatred toward the US from the Middle East. However, this hatred was incited by the US, following a simple cause-effect predicament. In the 90s, the US believed that it was their responsibility to go into the Middle East to protect Kuwait from Saddam Hussein. We did that, however, in reality did much more damage than the media wanted US citizens to believe. Try to think about it this way, how would you feel if a foreign country decided to come to US and bomb our cities, kill our people, etc. because say Mexico was invading us. We would obviously not be happy that Mexico was invading us, but we would feel even worse that this foreign country wreaking havoc in our country. This is the same predicament that Kuwait felt, except for the fact that Kuwait is essentially the size of Maryland. So, essentially, let us look back at the main point. This was the cause. The US's "white man's burden" propelled it to go into the Middle East and start creating damages and casualties there. Thus, a number of Middle Easterns from a variety of countries began to feel dislike towards the US. This was most evidence with Al-Qaeda. However, following 9/11, the US's desire to go into all these different Middle East countries and completely overthrow their government, and do all this different stuff, gradually increased the amount of animosity towards the US. The US completely bit off more than they could chew. WMDs, the Taliban, Saddam Hussein, Osama bin-Laden, Al-Qaeda, overthrow the dictatorships, and so on and so forth. However, it is my belief that time will eventually mend the relationship between the US and the Middle East. However, the mending process will only begin once we pull out (TWSS). Remember the Cold War. Russia (aka Soviet Union) and the United States absolutely hated each other for years, however after we stopped our antics and came to a resolution with them, our relationship immediately improved. Look at us now, is our relationship with Russia perfect? Of course not, but think about it. It has only been about 2 decades since Russia and the US were hated rivals. Just 20 years, and look at how much better Russian-US relations are. This could very well be the same with the Middle East. Do we hate each other right now? Yeah. But the only way to stop the hatred is to stop inciting it. And that means to stop meddling in their countries and have our military get out of the Middle East and come home. That is the only way we will ever be able to repair the broken relationship that we hold now.

That is a great question many would say because we act as a global police force but that cannot be it because during the racial cleansings in the Czech Republic and we finally showed up everyone there were pissed that we didn't get there sooner but ever conflict that we join near the beginning everyone says why does America always stick there noses where they don't belong? Some would say because we are greedy but I don't think that would be it since we help most people around the world when we can. So I don't know why people hate us maybe they are just a bunch of *****.

We don't hate the American public (although you do get a lot of bad press for being stupid). For example they did a survey where they asked people to point to Iraq on a map; so many people pointed to Australia (and yet they were supporting the war).
George W Bush also did a lot of damage and came across as a war monger. (also he seemed incapable of repeating sentences)
America is known for 'policing the world' and getting involved for reasons that are not always humanitarian.
Also coming on Yahoo answers and seeing American people tear each other apart over who the president is doesn't look good.
Americans talk about how their country is so good, but the infant death rate and standards of living are far worse than some 'third world' countries.
America is by far the most racist country I have ever visited. In LA I was told that 'white girls don't walk here'. I am from the UK and have never heard anything like it!
There seems to be more extremists in America than anywhere else in the world.
If it were a smaller country that behaved like this we could turn a blind eye but the USA is a powerful country. We need to fear such an unstable coutry with so much power.
And as for those saying that America is the most generous country please see the link below......
The USA is 19th most generous (after the UK, Canada and most of Europe)

definitly global recession is due to the crisis in America
In the age of globalization, no country can remains isolated from the fluctuations of world economy. Heavy losses suffered by major International Banks is going to affect all countries of the world as these financial institutes have their investment interest in almost all countries
The United States housing market correction (a consequence of United States housing bubble) and subprime mortgage crisis had significantly contributed to anticipation of a possible recession

Over 75% of our country does not ev en like Bush, so I believe he is the answer. America suffers for the errors and incompetence of it's leaders. I have always believed that if we allow someone like Bush to run our country, we deserve everything that happens to us. When Clinton was in office, and even Bush 1, we had allies and friends, we used to be respected. In the last eight years our Constitution has been trampled, we have invaded sovereign countries, engaged in torture, turned our backs on our own citizens(Katrina), and been the primary source of skyrocketing fuel costs and the ensuing global crisis. I love our country, but we have not given too many good reasons for anyone to love us in a long, long time.

Both. But it goes further back than that. Think of it this way: ever have a friend who always helped you out when things were going badly for you and you really needed it... but the rest of the time they were a jerk, manipulated you, took advantage of you, borrowed money from you all the time, bossed you around, trashed your house, and interfered with your personal business? That's America. Some people will stand a friend like that. Some people will not. Those who will not are the ones that hate us.

If I have to define America, my deff you would be this: "the first and the only country to drop an atomic bomb".
I hope that says it all. And I hate America too (I am an Indian and I love the Chinese and the Pakistani more!)

King George, King George, King George. The man who has declared himself King of America. The man who y trashed the constitution, the civil liberties of all Americans, and has made us the laughing stock of the entier world. Thanks to the so called christian right, and conservatism; what a wicked and ugly joke. On us, and the world!! Damn warmongering, oil seeking dogs! Scums of the earth they are! Is that clear enough why for you? Or shall I go on, with more truth? My stomach is starting to hurt!
