It took me, about 11 months, but I've been planning in my head for 4 years. Our parents paid for mostly everything and we are so very blessed for that. They wanted us to focus on a home, so we did! The WHOLE wedding cost $15,000 - $20,000 and it was Spectacular and everything we and our parents/families dreamed it would be. 197 guests, very big families. We were the first in both families to get married, so it meant a lot to a lot of people. Do only what you can and want to do.

My wedding took about a year 2 plan. I spent about $15000 most of that was on our honeymoon and our parents gave us $10000 each we were very appreciative. Im glad i had a big wedding i had alot of people i loved and wanted to be there.

Our honeymoon was great we spent 2 weeks in Dubai it was beautiful.

Depends how much you can afford really everyone is diff we got alot of help from our parents, some people dont get help from anyone so have to budget which is still fine, some people dont have a big family so dont have to have a big wedding and some want the reception in a cheaper place, or to have their wedding somewhere that is free.

If its you who is having find out how much savings you and your partner have, and if friends or family can help with making like dresses cakes, flowers etc. And ask if your parents can help. After all that weigh up how much you want to spend and budget if you have 2, you will work it out.

    goodluck

We were being pressured for the whole big white wedding thing and it just wasn't for us so we planned our own in just 8 weeks. Our wedding took place in the morning on the beach.

    * Contacted the local council and got permission to get married on the beach (free)

    * Married by my Aunty who is a registered celebrant ( cost of air fare)

    * Dress, flowers and bridesmaid dresses plus groom and grooms men around $1000

    * Cake $400

    * Breakfast reception at a local restaurant overlooking the water. They had never had a breakfast reception before and were so excited to cater it they only charged the cost of meals....no room hire or additional fees for service

    * Friend took photos - cost $100 for a few nice bottles of wine

All up we got married for under $5000 and it was a relaxed, family kind of day that I will never forget.

My sister spent $27 000 on her wedding and it was so stuffy and formal even she didn't really enjoy it ..... though she is happily married, she said she would have preferred a wedding like ours.

Our date 12/05/09 we have been planning for about 6 mo now and it is almost complete and I know where to go for everything. He is in school right now finishing BLET in a few weeks. I begin a 16 week course in dog training for SARS /BOMB/and police work( I'll train the officers and dogs) in July which puts me back here in Oct/Nov, so our plans had to be complete so he and my mom and gran could take over for me. By spending about every waking moment online and doing some serious shopping and a lot of DIY our spectacular wedding(looks like 20-30 k) is only running about 4000, including a 4 day 3 night ski honeymoon. We are mostly paying ourselves with just some help from our families for the DIY stuff.

We are spending 18k and I've planned it all in about 11 months. However, the wedding isn't until October 2009 so we've got loads of time to pay for everything & go through our counseling sessions with the church. But its all booked, deposits made, paperwork signed - church, reception, photographer, cake, florist, DJ, blocked rooms @ nearby hotel for guests. I have the favors, invites, etc, etc, etc. The BMs dresses are almost done - just have to get 1 more girl to the salon to choose her dress (that will be done by end of January). Then we have to take care of the groomsmen's attire.

Amber, each and each wedding ceremony is distinctive. 8 months wasn't almost sufficient time for me, even with the undeniable fact that it truly is purely superb for you! you ought to comprehend the girls human beings of this community cover an unlimited spectrum of wedding ceremony stories. meaning some women folk had their mum and dad pay for his or her $sixty 5,000 wedding ceremony whilst others financed their very own for $500. neither is solid or incorrect, we are all purely distinctive. in my opinion, I paid $5,000 for mine. i'm actually on the extra value-effective end of the marriage budget and lots under the national undemanding. yet we don't understand you, costly. we have no way of understanding your finances or subject except you proportion that suggestion. i could no longer have planned my wedding ceremony in any decrease than the 18 months of my engagement, yet i'm a information guy or woman. in case you're soft delegating and networking, there's no reason you would be unable to place at the same time a incredible wedding ceremony in 8 months. ultimate of success!

About 3 weeks. In week 2 of planning right now, just about done. The wedding will cost about $14,000, and it's going to look like it cost $30,000. I have to admit, I already had a lot of information from helping friends plan weddings though. If you want to cut costs, look into getting flowers from Sam's Club for the reception and table decor for escort cards and the cake table-(they deliver to your door, cheap and easy if you have a little time to cut them and put them in water). For you and your bridesmaids' boquets, go to a real floral shop. (You get a little better quality flowers from floral shops, and you don't have to arrange them yourself in this case, so I suggest going to a real floral shop for boquets for yourself and bridesmaids, as well as any coursages or things of that nature that people will look at up close. Look into renting anything you can-(aisle runners, centerpieces, candle trees, you'll probably never use any of it again), Wal-Mart is the best source for things like candles, vases if you're going to re-sell or rent them after the event, and thank-you cards. Look for people in small towns near you who offer services-(cakes, photography, videography, floral, etc.), as they are often giving you better quality and service at cheaper prices. If you have time, look into doing things yourself, if not, then look for a deal. Where I live, all of the tux shops offer you 50% off invitations if you agree to rent your tux from them (we're talking about really nice invitations from Carlson Craft here at 1/2 price!) I hope all of this info helped! If you're creative, think reasonably about what you want, get regular prices for everything you want, then cut your budget in half, and find a way to make it work. You won't end up with every single thing you originally thought you just "had to have" (crystals in the flowers, brunch for 50 the day after the wedding, the most expensive photographer in your area), but you will end up with something just as beautiful, and you and everyone else won't even notice the difference!

I planned my own wedding in about 12 months. Altogether including our honeymoon, we spent $15 000

It took my husband and I 6 months. We didn't have a reception because we wanted to get away to be by ourselves as soon as possible. So 300.00 for the church, minister and flowers (for inside the church) and 260.00 for our wedding night 200.00 for the photographer and 767.00 for our honey moon. Also my friend made my wedding flowers for me and my bridesmaid and the corsages. My mother in law made my dress and she paid for all the material for that.

    Hope this helps

12 - 6 months usually - cost is depends...I would say $9 000 (really small, homemade wedding) - $30 000 - but it is really just limited by your imagination this way:-)
