I just want you to know?

That being up here in the Detroit area, and the roads all snow covered, coming on line to the Yahoo Motorcycle Answers and seeing everybody talk about riding is really really hard. I have lived in both Florida and Hawaii in my youth so I remember VERY well the year round driving. Just letting you know how lucky you are! Enjoy it and be safe.

I was born and raised in Detroit. Old man was a motorcycle cop and rode all year, eight hours a day. And that was before there was electrically heated clothes. Don't let a minor handicap stop you.

p.s. moved to Southern California in '65! Don't miss Detroit at all!

Sorry, I live in Arizona and expect my ride home to be 75 deg and partly cloudy. Now whats this "s...n..o...w" you speak of?

Don't worry though, come July I'm paying the full price sitting at a stoplight on a 220 deg bike with an air temp or 119 not a cloud in the sky (just the buzzards waiting for me to drop).

Thanks Jon... I'm in PA now and bracing for the winter months, thankfully we haven't been hit with any heavy snowfall in the Philly area, yet. So I will enjoy these last few weeks of riding before the real cold comes and I once again get behind the wheel of my car.

    Take care in Detroit, man.

i grew up in windsor, ont. just a 1/4 mile from you,in three years i missed 3 days of continuous riding, and that was only because a snowplow dumped my bike upside down and burried it.

it doesnt get cold enough down there to stop me from riding..now living in saskatchewan, and my riding season has already stopped for the rest of the year.just counting the days down to spring.

Yup. Winter riding, even on cleared roads re-teaches you

the meaning of "Wind Chill" every year.

Seems to get worse as you get older too.

    Got that right, Irv.

We have snow on the ground, but the roads are clear.
