how do you report a certified nurses aid is dispensing meds.?
My father recently had a massive heart attack. While in ICU his doctor asked his wife for a med list from home. She gave him what his doctor had been giving him. She omitted that she had been getting sample meds from his sister in law who works for a doctor's office and they had been giving it to him. They ran a tox test on him and we still don't know what they gave him. I recently just found out all this information but I am clueless in where to start. Do I call the police first and file a complaint. Do I call the medical board against the doctor because he didn't have his samples scure. Do I call the Board of Nursing about the CNA? Please help! I feel maybe they were giving him the meds on the side to get to his estate.

This is confusing, but CNAs are not licensed to dispense meds. But if it's your sister in law, why would you want her to get into trouble? It's not safe to take meds that aren't prescribed to you especially when you have a heart condition. He should only be getting meds from his doctor.

you should first call the police and start with them they will proceed to identify the situationa dn will contact all the medical staff that have been helping him. The doctor should be the only one to perscribe something for him not a relative. i would do this as soon as possible. It can get worse and something else can happen, i would go now.
