I will be renting a house with a nice pool, I will have to upkeep the pool. How much roughly, is it a month to pay a professional to take care of it? Thanks in advance!

It depends on where you are located.
Some maintenance people charge differently, some will use their own chemicals, so will ask you to provide chemicals. It just all depends.
My brother pays $35 per visit per week in Florida.

look into it depends where you live,
I use bleach and baking soda for my pool,
you need to buy a test kit, and then buy some soda ash( baking soda) and about 15 gals of cheap unscented bleach , to start. i think my bill for last yr was around 200 for the year. It is really well worth the cost and time
