What do you think of the cop that detained a pregnant lady in boston?
How do you feel about their decision not to file a complaint I think this couple is doing a grave injustice to their community not filing a complaint on this man. This man is not capable of serving as law enforcement making such poor judgment calls. He lacks the very fundamental ability of common sense and the very basic function for which he serves - to protect and serve. What if there were complications with the delivery and the baby died because they were not at the hospital in time. Whats next? Is he going to shoot at a little boy carrying a water pistol? This guy carries a gun and needs to make good judgment calls, not act in incompetency. This is a disgrace to law enforcement and this man needs to be fired. It is this couple civic duty to file the complaint.
Sorry this question wasn't well worded she was in labor at the time she was detained.

As a former LEO I can honestly say this pogue showed little or no common sense by doing what he did. In my book there are bigger fish out there to catch and fry than hasseling a pregnant woman on her way to the hospital. Believe me on this: that goober is going to take a lot of heat from his peers, they will ride him like a government mule for months if not years.

I think that while it sucks that she was detained, rules are in place for a reason and deputy's are legally bound to them whether we like it or not. Deputies are typically skeptical of everybody because all they hear is lies. I do not think the general population has a right to judge all of them based on the actions of one because it is unfair.
If her contractions were three minutes apart and they were on the road and traffic was backed up, it is called 911 three easy numbers to remember when there is an emergency. The ambulance can break traffic to get her to the hospital, the deputy may have been sent to them to escort them to the hospital. The mere fact that they chose to break the law rather than just take a simple safety precaution was bad judgment on their part.

I find it kind of idiotic that the Mass. State Trooper is being made a scapegoat because of this couple's piss-poor planning. Last time I had to take my wife to the Hospital for the birth of my son, we didn't wait until the contractions were 3 minutes apart!

I totally agree. Good judgment is the most important part of police work.

very unprofessional and if they did file a complaint would the police seek revenge?

ok stop ranting...the officer was doing his job...and the couple is not filing a complaint is probably because they know they themselves were at fault

Cops are suppose to go through sensitivity training, he needs a double dose.

I wouldn't say fire him for this one thing, but some sort of training at least is in order.
I wonder if he'd been burned by someone's phony excuse one time before, or was desperate to meet his monthly quota of traffic tickets.

Always remember, there is no minimum educational requirement to be a police officer.
That means a person can be an idiot and still be one....it's madness I know but there you have it.
Instead of having the common sense and life skills needed to make a competent judgment call you get a cop shining his badge.
I think they should call it in personally, it doesn't get fixed else.

The cops are union hack thug pigs here in Boston.
