My mom has a deep cut on her finger, should she go to the ER?

My mom was cutting beef with a butcher knife and accidentally hit her finger. It did not go all the way through so her finger is still attached. However, she is still bleeding (not a lot, but it's still bleeding) 3 hours later. What should she do?

make sure you're holding the cut together, if not it will keep bleeding. Get butterfly bandages and put them over the cut to hold it together like makeshift stitches with them, and if it doesn't stop bleeding after another 30 minutes or hour definately go get stitches.

Probaly needs a stick or two. Generally if a wound doesn't stop bleeding after about 5-10 minutes it needs closure to heal properly,

Keep applying pressure and keep it clean. Doesn't sound serious, just messy. It probably stings. Fingers don't have main arteries in them, so the chances of her bleeding out are not there. It will eventually clot and she will be OK. Do not put it under running water, it prevents it from clotting.

Definitly go to the ER. Even if the finger is still attached, it is a huge risk of scarring, not healing properly, infection, and loss of the finger if she is not taken to the hospital to get it stitched up and taken care of.
