Could this be yet another scientific fact to support evolution and shut down creation?

My prayer was "baffling absent".

On December 1st, I asked God to create me a money tree in my front yard.

Nicknamed the Welfare Tree, this would allow me to quit my job, and all God had to do was make one lousy tree.

After waiting, the tree has not been created leaving the Creationism believers "completely baffled".

According to Creationism, god created the animals and plants. But this is a tree that God didn't create. Defying the Creationism rule, my yard still has only grass in it.

Overall, this is not what Creationists would expect or prefer.

Horrible argument? I think so.

I fail to see a single aspect of this anecdote that supports the idea that all organisms were created as is 6000 years ago. In fact, the statements in the story ("independent since the 'end of the last ice age'", and "150 million years ago") are both incompatible with the Biblical account of Creation. While genetic variation may be one of the fuels of evolutionary development - it is not the only "fuel". Low genetic variability can be a "fast track to extinction" when there is selective pressure on a population. However, in the absence of selective pressure on that population there can be a strong pressure towards stability of form (something that is seen in the fossil record, and is a key feature of the evolutionary theory of punctuate equilibrium). There are many trees (and other plants) that use the production of genetically identical "clones" or suckers to advance their own genetic heritage. There are poplar groves in North America dozens of kilometers in diameter which are genetically identical, and have been growing in this genetically identical cloned sucker fashion for more than 12,000 years in some cases. All the Wollemi pines are is a smaller scale version of the same phenomenon already known, studied and explained by botanists and evolutionary biologists from decades ago. This is not new, not revolutionary, not unprecedented, doesn't disprove evolution in any way (in fact, it confirms many of the predictions of punctuated equilibrium), shows a biological ability of a species to create what are essentially long-lived individuals with more than one "body", and absolutely shows no support for any version of a literal interpretation of Genesis.

Ask what is within God's will and purpose. I asked God if it was His will that He took me to a different land, I needed a job with a minimum of $2000 and I landed it the very next day not to mention it doubled in 2.5 years.

That puts Evolution stupidity more obvious considering there are your other members from your family (Apes) still around.

    Just to humor you:

The Bible says that the Lord will give you what you ask for... when you're in the Will of God. When you and God are so close that you know what you can ask for and what you can't ask for, then you will receive what you ask for.

Look at Jonah. He didn't even ask for a tree when he went on the hill to pout... but God grew him a tree.

That's like asking God to turn the light out for you just to see if He exists. He can... and it's possible that He has. But that doesn't mean He's going to.

i've come to the realization that richard dawkins was right. most rational people of the world, christians included, accept evolution. only a small percentage of the world's population deny it because it contradicts religious beliefs. these are the people who are in favor of teaching creationism. however, it's pointless to debate them. they will not listen to reason. and we, atheists and moderate christians, are not doing any good debating them. if anything, we are giving them credibility when we debate them. the best thing to do is just ignore them. furthermore, it does no good to insult christians as a whole. doing so will only cause divide. can't we all just get along?

The tree does, in fact, exist. Today, it is called Welfare, and grows in the bureaucratic offices in every town across America. Please feel free to indulge, just keep it to yourself. Be well.
