Days...Does anyone think Melanie could be Maggie's grandaughter?
Maggie's daugter Sarah left Salem long ago and we do not know what happened to her since. It would leave us wondering where the name Layton came from but that can be explained somehow. I'm just itching for a great twist like this.
Only slightly related to Nick...Sarah is Maggie's biological daughter that she had as a surrogate for Evan Wyland. We later learned that Neil Curtis used his sperm for the procedure (must have gone to the same med program as Daniel Jonas). Nick is Marie's grandson...Mickey and Marie are brother and sister. So, if Melanie is maggie's granddaughter there would only be a slight family tie between her and Nick. Anyway, incestual interest is excusable if the parties do not know they are related.
And I said Melanie could be her granddaughter, not her daughter so there wouldn't have been any 'Maggie doing Trent'.
Sami was born in 1984 (this was changed to 1977 for SORAS purposes). There is no birthdate for Sarah but her first casting was in 1981. Sarah is older than Sami who has a teen, nearly grown son, Will (whom everyone seems to have forgotten about, even Sami). So, given SORAS, yes, Sarah could have an 18 year old daughter.

Melanie isn't related to Maggie at all... but she is kin to another Salemite aside from Max Brady. ;)

It just may be an interesting story line. Something will develope between bratty Melanie and Maggie, there will be some kind of bond that will develop between them.

I can't see Maggie doing Trent but you never know. I had forgotten about Sarah, can't say but I doubt it. They are going to have to be creative with all the top characters leaving.

Sarah isn't old enough to have an 18 year old daughter. I know they have SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) but regardless of that, just not old enough.

No, if I recall correctly, Maggie is/was infertile. Sarah was adopted. So, biologically, at least, she couldn't be Maggie's granddaughter.
