Stone of Tears is the book where Richard fights the large group of silent warriors.
As for the book which has the best description of the boxes of Orden, that would depend on what type of description you are looking for. Physical description would be Wizard's First Rule. Description of what the boxes were really created for would be either Chainfire or Phantom, I forget which.
