How hard is it to become a correctional officer in FL?

It's fairly easy to get a corrections job as long as you've kept your nose clean and there isn't a hiring freeze. The pay is usually better with county/city agencies over the state DOC.

Not hard to take the test and apply. Florida has some strange "hiring freezes" which happen often. Friend of mine waited over a year after getting all the paperwork completed even though they were short handed.

my cousin is one in florida, because of the surrounding area its hard for them to escape, cause of the gators and snakes and such.

they are not allowed to carry any kind of protection at the time he could only write stuff down when people were doing bad

i think its hard to become and officer of any kind u have to be physically and mentally fit at all times of your job good luck
