How can you know the mecury levels in fish-oil supplements?

I've heard about warning on mercury levels in fish leading to limiting fish-consumption for pregnant women, but where can a person find out about what levels of mercury are present in fish-oil supplement capsules? (in the USA at any rate)

Update:

"The lack of mercury in fish oil supplements may be attributed to the fact that most mercury in fish is concentrated in the meat, not the oil."

Update 2:

thank you for the tip 'AnswerMe'

I've looked and it seems that the OIL part of fish is not where the mercury (if any) concentrates.

Part of the reason for using capsule-supplements is the *convenience* and ease of always having them around ...

although walnuts and pumpkin seeds taste good, they're a bit pricier ... and maybe I'll use them to "supplement the suppplements"

again, thks for the insight

peace,

ty

You will have to do a search on that. If you are concerned, eat walnuts or pumpkin seeds. They are full of Omega-3's and NO MERCURY! :)
