My computer's power supply's fan came back to life - is this possible?

Last week, my computer's power supply's fan started making a lot of noise when it ran. When I held my hand over the output I barely felt any air. Naturally, I shut down the machine as soon as possible.

This evening, when I turned the computer on to get an important file, the fan was back to its normal volume and seems to have a good air supply.

Do fans come back to life, or should I be worried?

Be worried! PSU fans need to run! If it shuts down, turn off your computer. An overheating PSU can actually cause a fire and burn your house down. Buy a new PSU, they aren't expensive and it is cheaper than dying.

The price of a new power supply: 70 bucks. The price of a good casket: $5000.00
