So I live in Seattle, WA, and am recently divorced. ?
I found out that my wife cheated on me while still married to me. Do I have any legal standing to sue for emotional distress and mental anguish over the adultery?

Why be a hater now? Get on with your life. We live in such a sue happy country and I think it is pathetic.

You can attempt it but I guarantee it won't see the court, nor will a lawyer touch it. Adultery is so common these days its next to impossible to sue for. Can you imagine how much court time would be held up in adultery cases alone?
Plus you'd have to see a psychologist to prove you've suffered emotional distress/mental anguish, have them testify for you, go through a long trial/court time. all for what? Do get the court say she's guilty? its not likely you'll get any monetary compensation either. Its really a lot of effort and money for nothing.
Seek counceling if the distress is so bad, but I would not waste your time or money, that would cause more distress!

Boy I wanted a piece of my ex-wife too...... but you know what, in the very end, it does no good. It just drags out a process that isnt very fun.
And even if you do get something, is that what you really want? You want her to know that she was wrong, right?
Now your decision.... Take the higher road and move on to the "healing"? Or get the revenge?
Good Luck My Friend, Because that is where you are.

I'm going through it too and basically, affairs to mean a whole lot, in the legal profession. Did she start seeing someone before you filed or after? It makes a difference.

Nowadays you can sue someone because their breath stinks. If you have an attorney then do what you like.
