What's up with the Rays? Why aren't they spending some money going after some FA's?

I personally believe they shoud've went after K-Rod, offered him the most $$$ and signed him. The Rays and K-rod would have been a perfect fit considering the condition of the Ray's bullpen. Percival is reaching 40 and Wheeler isn't going to cut it!

I know the Rays don't have much money to spend...but they gotta spend some money to keep up with the Yanks and Sox right?

Why should they ? That's not what got them to the world series last season. The Rays are fine as they are. History tells us that spending the most money doesn't equal to a championship. Just ask the Yankees!

I disagree. I think there bullpen is fine and if anything need another starting pitcher. Sure Kazmir and Shields are awesome but what about the rest of them?

Besides, Rays aren't a free agent kind of team, they build all there talent up through the farm system. I can't see them spending on a star, maybe picking up a role player here and there.

The Rays are smart enough not to waste money on K-Rod he is going to crap out in 2 or 3 years.

They'll only spend money on veterans that will lead they're team, or an unheard rookie. Keep in mind that getting to the WS isn't giving you $1000000 for free. You have to be great for a long generations of time.

They need to make some money before they spend more. If I were them, I would keep that team in tact and go for the gusto this year.

They'll beat out the Yankees again, and then Boston in the playoffs, and Hankenstein will blow his brains out.

For team options worth (and not player options) the Dallas Mavericks would have the most cap space this summer. And this was done on purpose to try to get big players like Deron Williams.

The Rays don't have money to spend. Simple enough.

I don't see the Rays making any major adjestments to their team, or signing any big name players... I think they're gonna stick to their farm system and their "New Kids on the Block" approach.

We'll have to see how it works out for them this year.

Don't need to. They have home gorn talent.

Crawford, Longoria, Upton, Kazmir, Price, and Shields...

They are not interested in spending money on there team. They will try to win with home grown cheap players & pocket all there profits! In other words they are not comited to winning!
