Our furnace won't stay on. Will run for @ 10 secs & stops. We get little heat. Faulty thermocouple? ?
We have low heat. Faulty thermocouple?
It's a Lennox Pulse, 1985, w/ a sensor/spark plug inside an access panel. The manual shows air flapper valve, purge blower, PVC inlet fitting, heat access plate, gas valve & decoupler, primary & fan limit control, the plug/sensor & the heat exchanger. When it tries to heat, it'll stay on for @ 10-15 secs, then off (I can hear the blower running), then it'll try to restart. There is a circuit board. Any firther info needed? Oh, and we've had a very windy night that is still continuing. Also, I noticed a few days ago that the 2" PVC pipe that protrudes from the side of the house has broken off at the wall. Would that have any effect?

Tough to know without more information about the unit. A guess would be that the thing lights but the sensor that tells it that there is ignition and it is OK to keep firing is not working.

It's the thermocouple only if the pilot light won't stay lit. There is a sensor that senses the heat.
