Can any body tell me the best flea removal?

My friends cat has a flea problem, she is using the collar spot on treatment and flea spray. but the little blighters seem to be living nearest to the collar. it has had the problem for 4 or so weeks now. and have fetched off 8 this morning. short of shearing the thing we are just battling on.

Update:

It has had the fela bath already and the house has been fumed for the flea's whilst on holiday. yet they seem to be worse.

Flea collars don't work. Take it off and get rid of it. Spray never works much either, discontinue it if you have ANY other flea product on the cat, you're double dosing with pesticides in this stuff. That can be toxic to the cat's liver.

One dose of Advantage is all that's needed, it keeps fleas dead or off the cat for up to 6 weeks we found. And it doesn't burn the cat's neck like Frontline does.

You need tot take the cat to the vet and get either the professional ADVANTAGE or the other one FRONT LINE,as the amount is prescribed to your cats weight, you shouldn't really use a spray and the drops together unless prescribed to do so by the vet.In the meantime do the old fashioned method of a nit comb from he chemist for 40 pence and get combing as this will take out eggs and lice.Very effective. You also need to treat the room with a prescribed vet room spray, lock the windows and doors make sure no fish or animals or humans are in the room and leave for a few hours before vacuuming thoroughly. When you vacuum make sure you always empty your bag and put in a clean one as you will otherwise be spreading them via the VAm cleaner. If possible steam clean your carpets as this will rid the room of eggs and destroy the flea cycle.

Everyone who says ADVANTAGE has my vote.

Very 1st time I used it I had *recently* bug bombed, flea bathed & scrubbed down everything. A few days later the fleas were jumping on me & swimming in the flea powder sprinkled around the floor boards.

I went to my vet in tears as I had spent a full day cleaning - for nothing! ADVANTAGE was new on the market & she sent me home w/ a box. I only treated my adults - no kittens or nursing mothers. In ~30 minutes I saw dying fleas falling off cat's whiskers.

I never had to bug bomb again because as the new fleas hatched the jumped on & bit a treated cat & died.

ADVANTAGE is now available w/out Rx... google for best price.

Thing is, you have already used a lot of stuff on your cat & risk poisoning it.

WASH THOROUGHLY - at least 2 soapings w/ a mild shampoo - baby shampoo would be good. Use a wet washcloth to clean her face & ears & then stuff cotton in her ears to keep water out while bathing her. Wait until fairly dry before applying ADVANTAGE.

Yes when our cats had the flea problem in the hot summer l bought everything in the shops including the one that goes on the back of the neck . In the end l went to my vets and they gave me advice but you cannot use them at the time of other products from shops . They advice me to use a stronger one depending on the age of your cat they will give you one that goes on the back of the neck which is stronger and right for your cat so do not dis pair l have had no problem but do not forget to buy at the same time to treat your house. It is better to buy from your vet then keep itching as lt drives you mad. I know l have bought all products before l went to my vets and l did not have to take the cat as l am known so best of luck do not mix products.

Dawn dish soap.... We get terrible flea problems in Florida during the summer and they have become immune to the dips and treatments. Tihs is a cheap way to take them off your dog. And sprinkle Borax on the carpets, let sit for 6-8 hours then vacume up.

Feline Advantage kills fleas and prevents them from coming back. I took in a stray with a flea problem and my vet put some on him. There were dead fleas everywhere for about 4 days and then there were no more. I've been using it ever since and have seen no fleas on my cats whatsoever.

Definately frontline, either from the vets or online, this will get rid of them shortly after application. Until then, comb them out with a flea comb and drown them in very hot water

Don’t shave. regardless of the actuality that it relatively is the finest approach, the hair re-improve is speedy and thick. I propose electrolysis, laser or IPL. Electrolysis is the only U.S. FDA-authorized everlasting hair removal approach. it relatively is proper for all hair types by using fact it assaults the hair follicle itself. Laser is likewise frequently happening as an enduring approach, yet there is a few controversy approximately this as there's a average danger of hair re-improve. it relatively is maximum proper for gentle epidermis and dark, coarse hairs. IPL is likewise an enduring approach. it relatively is distinctive from laser technologically, despite the fact that it delivers an identical effect as laser removal. be taught greater approximately those hair removal tactics at here web page:

    It takes a lot!

One has to buy a special and expensive carpet shampoo to kill the flees. Then they have to bug bomb their place at least once. And while their place is being bombed they need to take their cat(s) to a groomer, that is willing to do cats, to give the cat a flee killing bath or two.

IF all worked perfect then they will be rid of flees. But not until then.
