The gas Gage goes from full to empty, Is there an easy fix for this?

Ground wire exterior under the car in front on the fuel tank.

like the first guy said. Common in the 99-05 GM truck sending units. Problem is that you have to drop the tank to replace the unit.

I had a 99 Silverado that I drove for 2.5 years like that. Just pay attention to the miles per fillup. It will definitely go at least 300 miles in between fill ups
